This is interior of the Roman chariot box. The set came with two chariots, two mounted Romans, and foot figures. The figures are in colors not seen here.

Two interesting figures in the group. First, the foot Texas Ranger standing with a blunderbuss. The second figure is a mounted Texas Ranger clubbing. This is not a common pose. ( I will let Erwin give other examples.) These figures will be available from Steve Weston in the UK and I am sure various dealers in the United States will carry them as well.

I have some photos from Peter Bergner and treasures from Bergner and Detlef to put up on our show coverage.

These are unique and most interesting. Most Texas Ranger figures (what there are of them) usually depict figures from the post-Civil War period with the requisite six shooters or lever-action rifles. These work well for the Texas Republic period and/or even the War of Independence. Yes, I’m talking Alamo or San Jacinto. Definitely interested in these guys.

    • Paul Morehead says:

Replicants Texas Rangers are from the Comanche Wars of the 1840s. Peter Cole took the references for costume, weapons and equipment from reputable sources.

This was a very interesting selection of photos. The boxed Roman chariot set is particularly nice.
