Military Figures Stad’s Collection this time we will look at some military figures. First up are two of the Oliver version of Pech Japanese. I will follow with a original Pech figure. Then we will look at other figure military figures.
Military Figures Stad’s Collection Oliverr & Pech
Spain has a rich heritage of plastic toy soldiers. One of the most prolific companies was Pech Hermanos. Run by two brothers, they did a wide range of figures. Many of their molds ended up with Oliver of Spain. Here we have two of their WWII Japanese figures. These figures would be compatible with Mars and the upcoming Austin WWII Japanese.
Oliver added a square base to the figures for some reason. Oliver has not run these figures in years. They only do nativity figures which they have a very big market for in Spain and aboard.
Here we have an original Pech WWII British 8th Army. Many of the figures in the collection I collected and never got a chance to find out who made them. Back in the old days before the internet, there were not many sources. Today with the internet, we have seen an increase in web sites and books covering many of the figures that have been produced.
Military Figures Stad’s Collection Other Military
This figure maybe another Pech, I am not sure as its base was damage. One day I may put a new base on him.
Atlantic’s Military are not as popular as their ancient and western series. Still many of series are interesting. My favorite are Indian army and Medical team. In the above photo we have the Atlantic marines. They have been as U.S. Infantry. I have usually seen them in an olive. Here we have them in light tan.
The detail of the figures is just below an Airfix figure. They can still be integrated into your army to give your a nice mix of poses.
The set comes with two figures that have separate items. The separate items can be lost easily if not stored properly. It is an interesting set to look for.
The green figure is a wasted recast of Jecsan 1980s made by Puchol.
Jecsan did only two set of Japanese, one marines and the prisoners x the WW2 thematic.
While PH cover Germans AK,Marines,US infantry,Russian,8th army, and Australian each 12 poses and a 4 extra poses each artillery machine gun crew x each of those army w respective all different artillery ,mortar and machine gun type.
PH did two odd tanks while Jecsan did the first true all plastic toy Sherman tank in 1/30 and a “German” truck .But no more.
Jecsan two first set marines and prisoners were sculpted by same PH Hermanos artist.q
while second set Japanese as above figures were done by artist who will then go work for Comansi.
The change on bases by Oliver is because after take over mold of some of PH sets by Oliver x short time they need adopt figures to different manual machinery and mold block frames that force then to were rework in it.
,also some poses were retouched and varied as well the weapons were change in some. The Oliver new reworked formerPH poses mold have the banner pose remade made with piece of stick in plastic or removed to be converted as grenade thrower pose instead
best
I really like the figures of the Spanish manufacturer Pech .. especially the Africa and Tarzan series ..
