Stad’s Various Plastic Figure Collection once again we will go into my collection to the various figures I have picked up over the years. Sometimes I have added only one figure from an adventure. Other times it has been many shoe boxes of goodies. So sit back and enjoy.
Stad’s Various Plastic Figure Marx
Many times a figure will bring back a memory. In 1964, my Boy Scout troop visited the Boy Scout National Jamboree in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The speaker was President Lyndon Johnson. I remember as we listen to the president a plane was flying around the site. It had a banner Goldwater 64. That would not happen today with security concerns.
Barry Goldwater was the presidential candidate for GOP in 1964. Marx did two versions of Goldwater one with his glasses and one without. This is the non-glass version.I do not which came first or which is rare.
The above figure is one of the 45mm Tom Corbett figures. Marx did 17 different poses. This figure is blue which I believe that was done when the molds were sold .
Marx did a set of six different band figures. The first version was done in dark olive without bases. I recently showed a band figure in yellow hard plastic. Later figures had a base. The figures were done in Holland in hard plastic with a base. They were done one more time in green to take advantage of the popularity of the song “McNamara’s Band”which got related Robert McNamara the secretary of Defense.
Our next figure is a copy of the Marx 60mm cowboy with a pistol and a money bag. The original figure was part of the Warriors of the World seriesand also was made by Heimo. this is a copy done in East Germany. He is soft plastic. The giveaway is the eyes.
The HEIMO poses have minor variation versus original mold 60 mm cowboys and rest sets as they use a different mold as those and from the WOW series too. Most former Charmore-Heimo molds end in Russia and are recast all around ,if put both marx umpinted original and russia-former Heimo mold pose will notice difference.
Many DDR-east germany western did copied marx and elastolin poses .
Some makers in DDR made better quality while others are more crude. These were my first painted cowboy in soft plastic or heavy rubber I had .Unfortunately i got few left now
