Rich Fisher's Figure Conversions

Rich Fisher has taken some of the Marx Presidio hat Mexicans and convert them. While the standing with lance is nice you only need so many.

Here we have two of Rich’s conversions. The one in front Rich changed the weapon from a sword to a pistol. The Mexican soldier in the back the sword had been originally overhead. Rich changed the pose to en garde pose. In the photo, he included several of the Zorro figures he owns.

Rich took several of his Mexican Presidio hat standing with lance into several interesting poses. In front of the cannon we now have a Mexican soldier with ramrod. In the background, we have two two standing with rifle and standing with sword. The most detail is the drummer. I am curious where he got the arms and drum.

One other item that Rich mentioned was his Cofalu Zorro was not standing as it was missing its cape. The figure was designed to have a cape. Not having a Cofalu cape Rich used a Dulcop cape. He feels that you could use the Dulcop cape for the Ideal Batman and Robin figures which are usually missing their capes.

I think the drum and arms are from the Timpo Waterloo British infantry

    great conversions ..

  3. Don Perkins says:

    These are outstanding conversions.

The Mexican Lancer standing at attention is just as useful and logical a figure when he is holding a ramrod, a rifle, and/or a sword. And Mr. Fisher’s substitutions make each of the three new figures look just as natural as the original.

Likewise, changing the swordsman’s sword to a pistol, and then changing the pistolaro’s pistol to a sword is just as logical of a change, and then gives us a total of four good figures in place of just two. Once again, the substitutions are just as well done as the originals.

  4. TD Barnecut says:

The building is scratch built? The details painted on the building are great, done with considerable artistic skill. Well done!

  5. Rich Fisher says:

I purchased the building on ebay several years ago. The guy is still doing Western town buildings & they cost around $39.00.

  6. Wayne W says:

Some great conversions; is the drummer a conversion from the Marx Mexican War officer or NCO reading from Daily Book or the Timpo British drummer? Those were my first thoughts when I saw them.
