Brian McIvar’s High Chaparral House Detlef figures, this time we are going first look at Brian McIvar’s recreation of the house from High Chaparral. Next, Detlef Heerbrand share some Timpo figures into conquistadors. Also from Detlef a question who made some figures in his collection.

One of Brian McIvar’s favorite shows was The High Chaparral. He decided to make his own version of the house or hacienda. The house was the main part of the story from when John Cannon took over the land. The building in the front was surrounded by a porch with two sets of doors.

The building has a trap door so someone could get on the top to fire down on someone.

Here we have an overview of the roof. Brian has painted the building white to simulated adobe.

One of Brian’s problem on doing his High Chaparral building as he could not find any photos of the sides or back of the building. This very likely as it was a facade. The show was filmed at the Old Tuscon Studio. Because of that Brian had to make his own idea. On one side he placed a window and door.

On the other side Brian put just one window.

The back of the building has three windows and a door. I would feel the Comansi High Chaparral figures would go with the building. As I mention before Laurie and I met Henry Darrow who played Manolito Montoya years ago. He was not aware that they had made figures of him.

Detlef has shared several photos. The first are two Timpo figures that Detlef converted into conquistadors.

To make the conquistadors, Detlef used parts from Dabro Parts to help in his conversions.

Finally Detlef would likke to know who made these crazy cowboys and Indians? Do you know?

Brian’s artistry in creating a scale model of the ranch house depicted in “The High Chapperal” TV show is quite impressive.

It makes me want to go back and watch a few episodes all over again — this time paying particular attention to the ranch house.

If I may add my kudos to the excellent job on the ranch house. “The High Chapparel was a favorite in our house when we were where could get US TV. I watched some re-runs on one of the cable stations a few years back and was pleasantly surprised to see they held up pretty well. Thanks for sharing the eye candy.

That’s an excellent house model! The house looks like maybe adobe with a wooden portico added on. A building like this would likely have a porch of some kind on the back as well, or at least an overhead structure to provide some shade. More detailing could be added by showing some of the adobe brickwork. The open roof top could use some terra cotta drain pipes along the sides. Great job.

Hey, I just googled High Chaparral and found the building does still exist in Tucson, AZ. It is a real building, not a facade. There are several photos, showing lots of details possibly the sides and rear of the building as well.

The building with minor variation can be used as ancient roman/greek style building as well i think.
the morion helmet timpo figure conversion looks interesting well done.
