Stad’s Semi-Awesome Figure Selection we are back to show you more from my collection. It is adventure for me as I get chance to look at items I collected years ago. Because I have been busy with other things I don’t chance to go through my cases. I never know what I will find.
Stad’s Semi-Awesome Figure Collection MPC Police
MPC made several police figures. The first figures were their ring hand figures in blue. Later MPC did four policemen in 45/50mm. Above is one pf the policeman kneeling firing submachine gun. the other poses are
- Standing firing shotgun with radio at his feet
- right hand up palm out left hand has a club down
- Policeman right-hand pointing out left-hand holding top of the rifle
You can see the other three figures on Kent MPC Page for civilians
Stad’s Semi-Awesome Figure Collection Other Figures
Here we have two hard plastic figures of two hunters. One is standing with rifle while the other hunter is taking a picture. I figure they are from a model kit.
The above figure is a mystery. I don’t know if the figures goes with the horses that Michael Smith or another company.
I have not decided whether I will keep this figure or not. It was in the same junk lot as the other Timpo swoppet grenadier. I had to add a head and a horse. The hat is from Dabro parts. The figure looks like something from the Crimean War.
Stad’s Semi-Awesome Figure Collection Starlux
Starlux did a wide range of Medieval figures. I like their mounted figures. Here we have mounted bareheaded knight with sword and shield. It is a early production of the figure.
Another Starlux mounted medieval figure this time it is mounted figure of Joan of Arc. Sadly she is missing banner, but I will keep her.
At the Plastic Warrior Show, I was able to acquire several of this figures to keep one and sell the others. The pose is of a medieval noble holding a hooded falcon. This and the other figures from make your castle scene more than a battle scene.
Stad’s Semi-Awesome Figure Collection Metal figure
My collection has a few metal figures in the collection. Going around to flea markets I found this metal Johillco Grenadier blowing the bugle. I loved the pose.
I found a picture on Kent Sprecher’s site, and the mystery Confederate Cavalry officer is Charbens.

It’s by Cherilea, not Charbens.
thanks, Brian,
I was not sure about it. Looking at the figure, I know it would not be Charbens. If I remember right those figures are harder to get and the other mounted figures cavalry and Mexican are Cherilea. I remembered bringing the Mexican home from PW in a small plastic tub. I believe I got it from you.
Kent has got the mounted cavalry offier (Confederate) labeled wrong, it is by Cherilea not Charbens.
He was sold to me as Charbens, but I will take your word for it. Are any other figures in my picture that are also Cherilea? Thanks for the correction
Hi Kent, the mounted figures are all Cherilea, as is the standing horse without base. All the foot figures and the other three horses on bases are Charbens. These all look to be the reissues made by Plastics from the Past who produced both Cherilea and Charbens from the original moulds, that might be where the confusion comes from.
The two hunters might be made by Linde not sure though.
No, they are too small and hard plastic.
I have the hunter. My figure has a dead leopard (maybe a mountain lion) attached to his right foot. I would guess it is from a model kit.
That MPC cop is a nicely realized figure. I wish the scale were bigger, but I guess he’d fit in well with their little soldiers they put against everything – including their 60mm Germans.
The Confederate cavalryman is a great figure – I’m not usually fond of either Charbens or Cherilea’s style but every so often the nail it (for my preferences). When I first saw him I remember thinking, “Is that a Marx figure I’m unaware of?”
Thanks for sharing Paul.
Nice figures Paul !
