New Russian Figure Company Phalanx Ancient Assyrians, Andrey Buslov has sent me photo of the first release. The company is know as Phalanx and they have done Ancient Assyrians. It is a set of six figures which will work well with your other ancient figures.

As we mention Phalanx a new company that we have no information on it at this time. Their full name is Phalanx Moscow Toy Soldiers. I do know the figures are resin.
The six pose for the set as follows:
- Kneeling back he is firing bow bareheaded
- Standing with a mace or whip in right hand and table in the left hand
- King sitting on his throne.
- Assyrian in full armor firing bow
- Soldier walking in with left hand on hilt right hand seems to have something like mace or whip in it
- Assyrian walking with a sword in his right hand large round sword in his left hand
These three figures could go together as part of court scene
These figure will work well with other figure of the same period. It is interesting that Phalanx did kneeling poses of the archers. One question we will be giving Andrey is if they plan to do more Assyrians?

Andrey has done a comparison of the Phalanx figure with Engineer Bassevitch Assyrian. As you can Phanlax figure will work very well with Engineer Figures.

As you can see we are getting more figures coming out from Russia. who knows what will show next already this month I have shown at least three new sets So we will see what shows up in February.
Not too bad. I wish they would have used another color so you could see the details better. If I collected Ancient Empires I guess I would get a set if it wasn’t too expensive.
Well looks like russian are only making figures per month now and every year 2 to 3 new makers are surging .They had become the faster producer and well best done figures by far .Not counting Mars of course.
I like the color .Could be the light and or flash photo don’t give deep detail .The colors look mate ,not gloss and same way as CONTE and AIP did those colors the detail can be see still in my view.The price as usual height x those who can afford .
There is a high grow of collectors demand in this scale materla in East Europe and central.
So far i red many european blogs and they are full of people buying then .So they have good market there.

My thoughts
When did ancient Assyrians become so popular with toy soldier collectors? Or dealers if you are Paul!
I have no idea why the Assyrians are so popular. Phalanx must figure this period sold well for Engineer Bassevitch so they would sell well. Or they are history buff. As we get more information we will post it.
As to me I only deal in old stuff better mark up. The new stuff has a lower mark up and you are competing against the maker. Places like Michigan and Hobby Bunker are getting it in as they have the customers for it.
Ancient figures have many generic countries people and culture use.Their use as many others is infinite in my opinion.
European do love ancient history as were part of it.
That in US is not part of any history of course does not mean is popular.
The so call popular figures had been massively overdone and wasted.
while still welcome.
I rather buy these first than any new repeated ACW,Alamo, pirates, WW2 german ,american today .
Russian and Eastern european are making very interesting figures barely cover before.
Aztecs and ancient pre Colombian cultures are not much popular either here
Yet there selling well those made by CHINTOY maker sin US as w exception of REAMSA and few French old makers
no one had done then before.
These Assyrians as well those made by EB are a great addition to blend/mix match w Marx jecsan Atlantic ,Cherilea,Starlux and others that made back then for children in the golden era of toy soldiers that I bet loved and appreciate then with out questioning their popularity either.

Here we go again with yet another new Russian company, Nice figures in a scale i like and they will fit nicely with the EB Assyrian figures. I especially like the archer figures. I prefer action figures myself and some of these are a bit boring but would make great court figures. Even though these figures are in an era i love and collect I will buy some if they are reasonably priced, Otherwise i may give them a miss? I will see. At the moment i’m more excited by the possible upcoming Chintoys Inca and Mayan figures and may save my money for them if they are still coming out. If they are as good as the Aztec figures i may buy several sets.
Well least these figures are about 5.80 per figure APPR AND not insane as PP or Publius or Warhansa; all way off the most collectors pockets ..
So with Chintoy,EB ,no name and Urfin these this makers least are a acceptable and more accordingly logic priced for many collectors than other”super deluxe = luxury =cadillac- else figures”.
