Peter Bergner’s Figure Finds Timmee, Marx Reissues one aspect I love of Stadsstuff is that I can share things you friends and other people send to me. One of my great friends is Peter Bergner. We have helped each other for years. Peter sent some photos to me yesterday that I would like to share.
Peter Bergner’s Figure Finds Timmee Knights
Peter has been buying figures on Ebay for his various junk boxes he has at shows. In one lot he got these Timmee foot knights. He got five of the six poses. He missing the knight with lance and triangular shield
The six poses are as follows
- Ax and shield looking to the right
- Standing with separate lance and round shield
- Club over head
- Firing crossbow odd leg positions
- Sword over head with shield
- Standing with lance and triangular shield (missing from photo)
The figures are 70mm in Germany they were also done 35mm. The colors are not U.S. colors so must have been done in Germany.
Peter Bergner’s Figure Finds Marx Reissues
The next item Peter got in his purchases were the Marx 60mm in green. These figures had first surface with Mike Ellis. He had been able to get various Marx 60mm figures from Hong Kong include these figures. One thing his figures he got are in a different color.
When Mike Ellis had these figures done he had them in a dark blue. These figures are in a green.
It is very interesting that Figuren the German magazine shows the Generals and dough boys in green. the company that owns the Marx mold in Hong Kong is very hard to deal with and wants big runs of figures. I wonder where these figures were used.
Peter Bergner’s Figure Finds Mystery Figures
Peter also got some figures he could not identify. The two Indians are rubber and I figure Italian.
Likewise these figures are Italian and go with military vehicles. I just can not remember the maker.
Peter last mystery figure I have seen before and I have two figure in my collection. The vikings are 45mm. What is very interest is the Viking ship if it one that goes with these figure it is the first time I have ever saw it.
As always it is an interesting time with what Peter finds. I can not wait for his next treasures.

Growing up, the kid down the street had a Viking ship very similar to the one in the picture; I was jealous. Incidentally, he was a Quaker, but had the best war toys in the neighborhood. For example, in addition to having some excellent Johilcos, Timpos and Crescents, he had an honest.to goodness Civil War musket. We attached a bipod to the barrel and it was our machine gun when we played army. Boy do I miss those days; oh to be a kid on a warm summer day in the ’60s with nothing more pressing to do than read the latest issue of G.I. Combat.
Sigh
The green Marx reissue generals were sold in clear plastic tubs by Accoutrements 20 or so years ago. They also sold the reissue Marx boy scouts in green in the clear plastic tubs. I ordered six of each tub to retail the figures individually and did not get any of the scout bugler. I called them and yes they could see buglers in the tubs there, but I wasn’t sure if they would sell so I did not order any more. I also got reissue Giant knights and Mongols with the small castles in header card bags which sold very well. When I tried to order more all three products were no longer in stock. Sadly they quit carry toy figures and now sell more novelty type stuff.
I forgot about the generals with Accouterments. It looks like somewhere a large run of figures was done in green as the rough riders show up in New Jersey. Yes, I had fun selling that Giant reisssue too.
