Stad’s Personal Figure Collection, it still amazes that someone who say I am not a collector. I laughed when I heard this as looked at the various item that Laurie and I have on display. This time I am going to show you some of my better or interesting pieces.
Stad’s Personal Figure Collection Tarzan
Tarzan was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. He was marketed so many different ways. When it comes to authorized plastic figures by U.S. companies he was only done by Aurora. Jaru Toys did Tarzan on blister card which copy of the Lone Star figure. Aurora did a new figure. The figure came with eight animals on a blister card. One thing you have to be careful with this figure is that the knife can break easily. I remembered where I got it. On trip with my late father we found it in a flea market that only lasted a few years.
Stad’s Personal Figure Collection Cofalu
When I was preparing Laurie’s article I found this figure. It is soft plastic knight mounted on soft plastic horse. Checking with Erwin Sell, I found out the figure is Cofalu. The figure is one of six mounted figures. One problem with the figure is he has the wrong lance. The lance he has is Timpo lance. Cofalu’s lance is small brown lance. Of the six figures the hardest to find is the mounted bowman.
Stad’s Personal Figure Collection Elastolin
Elastolin made figures from Karl May’s wild west series and his far east or Oriental series. Most of the figures were characters from the books. The above figure is Abu Seif
The other figure I will show today is Kruger Bei. We will talk more about this series in the near future.
Stad’s Personal Figure Collection Starlux
One company I have enjoyed collecting over the years is Starlux. I first saw them at an MFCA show over thirty years ago. Starlux made a wide variety of figures range from western, prehistoric to knights and modern. While I have cut back in what I have of Starlux, there are figures I will not give up. In future postings I will show some early Starlux figures in my collection. We will also showcase some Laurie’s dinosaurs from this company.
Nice Figures ! Aurora did some really nice sets, Camelot,Tarzan, and Wizard of Oz ! I’m lucky enough to have all three sets carded !
I’d like pictures for my website.
The Cofalu Knight looks really nice ! They did a really nice American Civil War type cavalry guy also !
Aurora knights and Tarzan are in my wanted list.Several times I had almost got them.but no luck.
the sculpting is awesome.
nice collection.

Good additions to any collection
In all the years of the internet I have been trying now and then over the years to see up close photo’s of the Aurora Camelot figures. I first saw them in a small picture in the O’Brian Toy Soldiers Book and the pictures I’ve seen on the Internet are distant shots usually in the “Card”. I have never seen them in person. The only up close pictures I saw were the princess in Whimpole hat and the 2 mounted Knights. Frustrating! Anyone know what happened to the Aurora mold?
Tom,
I have the Camelot set un-carded. I can photograph the whole set for you if you like.
