Mike Pedergast MicShaun’s Closet Mike has done an interview with Dave and Kim Cook of MicShaun’s Closet. They are the new owners of the TSSD figure molds and foam accessories. You can read the interview right here.
Also today January 13, is Mike’s birthday wish him a happy birthday.
Thank you Paul. I am glad that TSSD will live on with the Cooks continuing re-stocking the older products and looking into producing new things. They are friends of the VerSteegs, so they passed the company over to friendly faces.
This was an interesting interview, as all of Michael’s interviews with prominent figures in the toy soldier hobby have been.
The Cooks seem like nice, sincere people, just like Nick and Deanna VerSteeg were.
I thought it was encouraging that they are planning on continuing the TSSD tradition of new figures and accessories, both of which Nick always ensured were extremely well-done. Not only were the TSSD Plains Indians and 7th Cavalry figures outstanding, but Nick’s Custer’s Last Stand Hill was truly great, as was his follow-on Reno’s Hill.
I’m also glad to hear internet sales of the TSSD stock are going so well that the Cooks are having to place re-orders.
Good article. If new figures are done they will be done to compliment existing lines. Wonder what era that would be? TSSD had some great figures , the only weakness in their WW2-U.S. Nam figures is the large heads that are too tight in their helmets and facial detail. If they can correct that they would be close to Plastic Platoon level. Hope the Cook’s raise the money quickly for new figure sets!
Great interview and great news. Thanks for doing the interview Mike – and Happy Birthday!
and how will prices be?
That’s the $64,000 question… (I hope not literally).
