Flea Market and Junk Box Finds Part Two

Flea Market and Junk Box Finds Part Two we get a chance to look at a few more finds. I love surprises I find in the boxes.

Flea Market and Junk Box Finds Part Two Photos

This cowboy was designed to go on top of a stagecoach. It will be interest to find what stagecoach it went on.
When I first was this figure I thought it was some fantasy figure. Imagine my surprise when going through Kent Sprecher’s site for Timmee civilian figures and finding it is from their farm set. The figure is a scarecrow. I am wonder if it was planned it for something else which was canceled.
Here are two knights made in China. The one on the left is a copy of Starlux figure downsize to 45mm. The knight on the right  is a copy of Britains Deetail knight If anyone has him can you tell me if the base is correct or not. Also any other figures in the series.
Would you say the Clydesdale horse on the left is a copy to the Marx Clydesdale horse on the right? The Marx Clydesdale was part of the Marx prize livestock series. Kent reports there are ten different animals in the series.
This was not in a junk box but part of a box of figures for $2.00 each. Is it one of  CTS Alamo character figures they did in resin.  Thanks for Lenoxx
When I first saw this lion I figured him for a copy of Britains Lion. comparing photos from the internet it is not as the head is turn different.

Flea Market and Junk Box Finds Part Two Photos France

Back in the junk boxes, I found these four French soldiers. They should be Cofalu. My foreign friends are amazed how I find their country’s figures here.

  1. Kirk Larson says:

The silver knight on the right in the third picture is a copy of Britains Deetail pose. The originals were usually painted black, and had removable weapons, one of which was a Morningstar like the one in the picture.

  2. Tom Black says:

The Cofalu French figures look nice. The mold is lost I suppose?

    • Erwin says:

French Cofalu molds were split among several minor makers.some end in island of Mauritania along some Quiralu molds .
Cofalu did 5 armies french indochina war set .but figures are 60 mm.These looks a bit
      smaller.I may be wrong.
The unpainted version of air force, commando and FFL were sold till 90s.Kent carry some sets.
The best are the real 1/32 tank.cannon and truck plastic made x their set.Never recast .
      Best

      • Erwin you have lost something in translation here, the French moulds are on the Island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean not Mauritania which is a different country on the western coast of continental Africa. Some of the moulds there were originally thought to be Cofalu (medievals) but these were in fact made by Acedo, the modern army figures (navy and FFL) were by Quiralu, I don’t recall there being any Cofalu among them. They were imported into the UK in large numbers by Michael Mordaunt-Smith in the early 1990’s, he sold a lot on to Stads and other dealers.

        • Erwin says:

          No problem Brian.No translation i’m not french.LOL
not first time the phone correct name.I don’t even look at it while typing in small phone space and it uses autoself correct/edit while.
I now about Stads connection. Some batches come to state via others too.
The Air force and other modern set Cofalu not Quiralou as I say were carry by Kent here unpainted.he still have some.
I did a oost here about yhree yars ago about COFALU
I don’t think the Quiralou modern were carry by him .
I know about stads and mold.
Not idea in rest you say.

        • admin says:

Michael only had knights, cavalry horses, Indian horses cowboys and Indians. The last time we talked Michael said the mold had been left out side and were ruin.

  3. Lenoxx says:

The figure with the broken sword hilt is CTS’s General Santa Ana from their earlier Alamo playsets. I think it was made of resin. They made character figures of Crockett, Bowie, and Travis as well.

  4. ERWIN F SELL says:

The chinese STARLUX knight copie is a crude degenerated copy of REDBOX clone Star lux made in 90s .There 12 poses in the set ,7 copies of Starlux and 5 copies of TM and Simba brand knights mix poses.
I have a mint plastic case RED BOX set playset x sale ,they come out in 90s sold at KB toys first .Recently off amazon are being sold in A crude waste mold sets as well .i got one set off recently and the detail is poor versus old RB copies plus scale downed to 45 mm .RD were close to 54 mm .
The silver Britain copy crude is from 2009/2010 Blister card sold at dollar store and are crude copies of old HK silver copies from 80s Britain knights with some poses plug in poses .They are very abundant still.Only 3 mounted and 4 foot poses mix turk crusades were copied as far i saw and have.

  5. Don Perkins says:

The fifth figure down (just below the two clysdale horses) looks like the Santa Anna character figure from the CTS Giant Alamo Playset. I believe this Santa Anna character figure (one of four Alamo personality figures) was only available with the CTS Alamo Playset.

  6. Mathias BERTHOUX says:

Hello Paul, they are good Cofalu’s I think (end of production I suppose).
    Best from France.

  7. The silver knight was made by Helm Toys in the mid 1980s for a fantasy playset. Most of the knights in the set were based upon Britains figures. They also made figures based upon some Marx WWII Germans and GIs + Deluxe Reading GIs

  8. Peter Evans says:

The cowboy laying firing is by Dulcop and went with their stagecoach
