Allentown Toy Show Winter Edition 2018 is the last show of the year. I decided to do it over going down to Maryland which was the same day. I had done well in March and thought I would see what was there.
Allentown Toy Show Winter Edition 2018 Report
another item I got was this panther. I recognized as Captain Action, but I double check ith a group on Facebook. they confirmed it was Captain Action Boy’s pet panther minus the leash.
One thing I like are junk boxes. A dealer had under his table box which I spotted some model kit figures. I asked the price. the whole box was $5.00. I could not pass it up. In it were these two model kit mechanics for WWI airplane. Theypaid for the bbox and I have other items to go including Marx telephone.
I saw Dick Jackson who I had seen at Hackensack. From him Hong Kong copies of the Airfix cowboys and Indians. other people I saw were Pat mugavin and his buddy Dan. they had decided to skip Maryland as well. Dan got a Marx Prehistorice playset while Pat had gottten some various items. Mike Pendergast was there but I missed him.
The show had a nice crowd. there were some common playsets on the ground. After doing the show I check the bid board as they had some Marx playset.

The pirates were done by the same people who did the army figures. They had them made by same company that did cracker jacks premiums.
NOSCO made them. Wikipedia has a good article on them. here is their first paragraph.
Nosco Plastics, Inc. (commonly called NOSCO, the mark used on its molded products) was the plastics molding division of National Organ Supply Company created in 1934 to make plastic parts for electric organs[1] and was located at 1701 Gaskell Avenue, Erie, Pennsylvania, 16503.[2] Beginning in 1948 with the implementation of the newly developed screw injection molding process, NOSCO quickly became a major early producer of tiny plastic toys called “slum” (very cheap prizes that are bought in bulk, sometimes for as little as $1 a gross or less)[citation needed] sold to wholesalers as carnival merchandise, used by the millions as prizes in packages of Cracker Jack popcorn confection, and mail-order flats that were heavily advertised in American comic books as “100 Toy Soldiers for $1” by E. Joseph Cossman & Company.[1] NOSCO also held a number of patents on plastic molded products including mechanical toys, storage containers, pallets, and medical syringes.[3]
I think some of those cannon flats came with the comic book Civil War set. I got the Revolutionary War set when it was issued in the revised 3D version – a neighbor friend had the 2D set. I sure am glad I never was able to save my pennies, nickels and dimes for the ACW set – I was looking at it but got the Gold Crown set instead. The Giant figures were great – even if the flat printed “castle” was a disappointment.
Thanks for bringing back the memories, Paul.
Yes the pieces are from both sets. I got tthe revolutionary as a child at a Salvation Army bazaar. I knew what I was getting as I had read Seduction of the Innocent by Frederic Wertham. I had fun with them and soldthem off years later.
Some real nice finds Paul !
