New Knights from China we are going to have a number of short posts in the coming days. First up are some the 45mm to 47mm scale knights that Erwin found. They are being made in China sold so far only in Russia.6 figures in 4 poses bag.
New Knights from China Photos
There are four new poses. They are as follows.
- Knight in full armor with sword and round shield
- With axe and shield right foot on rock
- Firing bow pointing upwards.
- Swinging two handed axe shield on back.
Note the last figure showed up without shield in back in the 60 mm set from Liberty Imports post here as well.

A closeup of the two last mention figures. Can bowman be used in a earlier period?
Set has 4 poses with byzantine style bowman nice pose. Each has a numerical series from 8080 to 8084.
The poses appear to be a mix derived from SIMBA 45 mm poses and ITALERI knights poses but complete different new armored and well-done deep detail with a bit bulky body in nice action poses.
They blend with accurate, MPC, Blue Box both sets knights others alike scale.
Erwin has done some comparison photos. Here we have Red Box copy of Starlux and one bowman of recently released chinese 7 poses knights sold off ebay painted next to the new knights.
In this photo we have early Blue Box copies of Elastolin knights with the new figures.
Johillco knight and Simba knight are used as reference.
One of MPC 45mm knights with one of the new Chinese knights
Accurate and Airfix are placed with the Chinese knights
Finally Erwin has mixed in the Chinese knights with Simba knights. The comparisons show that these figures will blend in well with other figures. If we hear of anyone getting them we will let you know.
Always nice to see new figures and these are Really nice, Good detail, Good action poses. A bit shorter than i would really like them to be but i think i could easily convert these up to 50mm to 54mm, I like them and would like to get hold of some.
I wish they were at least on a scale with Marx 54mm; after Conte and Barzso’s Robin Hood – that’s about as small as I go. They are some nice sculpts and if I had any MPC or the RG knights (I believe my 100 YW were a tad larger, but would have to drag them out to see – I think Accurate were “0ld 1/32” and Revell were 1/35 – I know it was that way with ACW).
Yes.I agree. But fortunately x me I can match with plenty in the 45/50mm range or 1/35 approximately.
That is why I collect several range and also as Don do end many using the space and distribution x scale of alike figures.
Many of Accurate and Airfix are almost exact as those as picture show.48/52 mm .While German infantry were from 56 /58 mm and the tolest made.not 54mm at all.
I use an scale measure ruler and follow bottom feet to top head with out tall head gear to do such measurements.
I send a photo to admin with it.
Airfix either by error or purposely did label their figures as 1/32.
They were not at all in many cases.
German paras ,Gurkhas, US paras, japanese,Knights, Indians, modern sets and other are way below standard 54mm .
ESCI WW2 Russians and modern NATO are same .
perfect match is impossible.even x same makers they violate the rules a lot.
Best
Accurate 100 yrs War was 1/35 scale.
Thanks Tom, I couldn’t remember – it’s been years since I’ve had them out; I know they were on the small side of my medieval collection – but then again, my Marx Robin Hood figures are dwarfed by Conte and later issues.
