Plastic Figure Showcase October 2018 Part Three Swoppets Swoppet Time
I keep going through the collection and finding surprises. Here I have another of the Jean swoppet Indians. I have no idea were I got them, very likely on one of the trips to Germany.
A person chided me that the Jean swoppet figures were Nardi. My feelings was that person was wrong. You the readers found the correct answer of Jean. Here is a Nardi swoppet cowboy. The figures are the same size.
Plastic Figure Showcase October 2018 Part Three Swoppets Blue Box
Blue Box of Hong Kong did a wide variety of figures many which were original figures. Take the above figure which we would say is Tarzan. Blue Box very likely called him jungle man to avoid paying rights. Our Far East expert Erwin will weight on that.
This French soldier may be Blue box. It does not have any markings. It is 45mm.
Plastic Figure Showcase October 2018 Part Three Swoppets Short Takes
Your first assumation is that the above figure is a Hong Kong copy of the Elastolin Saxon figure. On closer inspection of the figure you find that is not the case. First the bottom of the figure is not marked. The Hong Kong copies are. Second tthe Hong Kong copies have a rim around the base. While the above figure has no rim. Finally the above figure weapon is molded in. Hong Copies of Elastolin have holes for weapons. I feel this figure was made in France. We will see.
Finally we have this black basketball player. He is 45mm. I have no idea if he was premium or what.
The 45mm French infantry man is a scaled up version of the Airfix WW1 set. It was made in Hong kong by Ri Ti (Rado).
The Elastolin copy is by Huggonet of France.
They made three mediaeval and three Roman Elastolin copies in this set
Huggonet was sticking in my mind, but I was thinkingto hold back
Thanksfor the correct on the 45mm French
The French 45 mm is part of very rare- less common 6 poses set made exclusively made in HK around late 70s of the pantograph-increased poses of 6 original poses of HO Airfix set WW2 French .
They were release by RI-TOYS=RADO and in bags or sometimes window cases with plastic green or silver cannon firing copy of Crescent or a tank else and trenches. Figures made in light green, mustard or grey blue as far I had seen.
I have 2 bags. I can supply photos as well of all. Yet Markus from Germany did post here one full set I think no long ago.
Apparently, they were less produced or distributed than most other HK first copies of Airfix sold under Rado and distributed by Welo in Europe as well as you find less often around either here, at shows or in eBay. Also, the bags I often see found bring only few soldiers in contrast with larger RADO other copies made with plenty repeated poses
South American countries receive then a lot, that is how I got then.
Because similarities uniforms of WW-1 and WW2 most poses can be use as both.
As a note to prevent anyone saying they are common see in my area, town county else. I like to add they are rare seen in my view please.

Tarzan poses is early original made by BLUE BOX 60 mm pose it is part of a rare set that has a seating woman-“Jane”!?. They were done for early 60′ window pack set sold as jungle adventure and included a hunter and two Africans poses.I have the africans and one hunter and prep a post job x this already with plenty photos .
These early 60 mm poses are extremely hard to find as were made-sold for few years apparently and I had not even see copies of then as usually happen with HK products.
For me is one of the hardest and intriguing Blue Box early figures sets .The animals included were few and copies of Britain in larger than common scale used by HK makers .
The more common found are the Tarzan pose and hunter as were sold also along with a safari Land Rover and animal window case as well.

It looks like the Nardi figure above is mounted in a HK swappet base for some reason ,that is not original terrain.
NARDI base in all scale they made in human figures were not regular shape but terrain elevated hollow below and only one type rectangular ,with only one hole where only always one foot attach to base while other was in air or just not attached.Only exception been in the figures in solid bases of some third-fourth last series
The figure is also missing the kerchief .It could be a also a very close cloned made under obscure maker V.SM made in Italy who direct copied some sets of western from NARDI or ITALY (the other line co- brand name used by ISAS in their copies made of NARDI sets .
ITALY a brand name that did mark figures as such and some out there included the detractor can not believe exist ,yet is mentioned in two italian books and NARDI official blog plus book .
ITALY print words under base or above base. They copies and or cloned NARDI,ISAS,XILOPLASTO,CANE ,PRB and few others .
They enter in legal conflict with NARDI in late 70s and soon stop producing

Yes the figure is mounted on HK base you got me LOL
Now I will have look for a Nardi.
Nice Figures !
I have three of those ” Tarzan” firing a bow figures, been finding them in ” junk” figure boxes, most I paid was fifty cents for one. Didn’t now they were from the 60’s and hard to find.
The tarzan and one hunter pose are the more common pose found as i mention above ,the other african pose plus woman or full set is the hardest to find .Yet not easy see around figures overall .The one BB tarzan had been gone x crazy price in ebay twice least recently ,apparently by tarzan fan figure collectors or else.
The one hunter firing pose is quite nice pose firing in semi angle that can be use in as explorer ,WW1 or WW2 african pose italian,AK else too in about 60 mm ,i got 4 of then to be use as such.
African i got only the two and got each in long period time from each other and never seen others least here ,off ebay, todocoleccion or other places in over 25 years

That is how it works. What is hard for some people is easy for other people. Also most people are not aware of it. This is what I have been doing for too many years learning while in the field.
