Plastic Figure Showcase October 2018 Part Two Soldiers we will look at soldiers. First we have two different figures to honor our veterans. Next we will look some of Lone Star Red Beret Swivel heads. We will round it out with some other military figures.
Plastic Figure Showcase October 2018 Part Two Soldiers For the Veterans
The first photo is a conversion that Peter Evans did and sent to me. It is a World War One soldier marching. Yesterday was remembrance of the end of World War One and Veterans Day. We should not keep it for one day but remember it every day.
Sadly man has not learn war is bad and we see it going on today. The above figure is from the Vietnam era.
Plastic Figure Showcase October 2018 Part Two Soldiers Lone Star
One of the hardest Lone Figures to find are the Lone Star swivel head red beret. The head will turn in various directions. Because the head tuurning it could easily break off. I thought I had only one of the figures in the collection. Surprise I found three more in a box. Where I got them who knows.
Plastic Figure Showcase October 2018 Part Two Soldiers Other soldiers
This figure was made in China. I like the pose but not sure if it is Chinese soldier or not . What do you think?
Here is a test shot of Britains Deetail U.S. soldier. It was done to check the mold and was done in a clear plastic.
Staying with Britains we have two China copies of the Swoppet British army. The figures were made into a solid figure.
My collection does not have action poses of military figures. I look for support people. Case in point the above figure. He is holding a map and bicnoculars. He could be used with an artillery team. He could be an officer observering the battle. I have no idea who made him.
The soldiers made in china is base pose from Airfix commando pose advancing with add helmet instead …
Best
hello .. last pic the artillery man is from Manurba / Heinerle/ Domplast Soldiers of the world
While vintage is my main interest, they occupy a non-historical collection in my insane hobby.
Many vintage brands can and are use along my historical range makers brands (most made since 90s production)
Yet many did so very odd-rare poses. Generally, the cheap makers such Charben, Cherilea, LS, TM, and others. The so call action poses barely have any firing a rifle weapon if modern like above running with a mortar in one hand or firing down with pistol, standard clubbing, butt-stroking,running with one weapon in one hand . Thanks God they usually did flamethrower firing forward in most other brands
Marx been the less action shooting firing pose per amount poses in each set (often 12-16 poses set) is a classic example of barely firing poses
Wherever the reason may had been in all these makers it surprises me always as were made x children
UK makers with exception of Britain/Herald and model makers such Airfix/Matchbox made few firing poses per set.
TIMPO swapped like the poses and those firing looks rare as position weapon is not correct done.
Italian makers with exception of few such Atlantic did their figures in fighting, advancing , dancing or funny poses too.
German makers with exception Elastolin, Jean Hoefler and Merten did most in standing poses but no firing guns.
Spaniards makers by excellence even many WERE crude made; are the ones who did more firing shooting poses in most their huge array sets armies per set. Reamsa, PH, JECSAN with Comansi the less firing poses, small makers from Spain also did a lot.
French brands did also a lot of firing poses but their almost 2d image pose always looks rare to my personal like
Overall after this observation I like all as they supply my collection of non-firing many other needs poses in many cases. Been Marx the best example as they did so many wounded, marching, medic, carriers else so much need to cover other moments of war scenes, therefore I price and welcome all. Rare, funny or not are lovely figures.
The rare odd bad done poses are of curiosity interest or to complete my sets as once I got few, I like to finish the set collection.
LS swivel head are used in my collection for Korea or Vietnam. They are hard to find but interesting.
I manage get some damage ones to convert as casualties or artillery poses
my thoughts.
