Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year. Our new year was quiet, as we stayed in and watch the ball drop from Time Square. The next day we watched the Rose Parade.  I am finding myself more and more disappointed with the Rose Parade. Most of the major sponsors are gone and the floats are less exiciting than in years past. I have been to the Rose Parade twice as a spectator and had hope to take Laurie to see it live. After seeing this years parade, I have decided we will pass on it.  We have the traditional dinner for this area, pork and sauerkraut. Laurie had gotten a pork roast from our favorite Amish meat dealer, we had with it potatos and sauerkraut which I do not like.

Last year  was a good year for us despite my hospital stay. I got lucky and had one of the best surgeons in the area for my situation.  It has been three months and I am doing well.

I got a nice surprise the last day of 2012 as my Russian figures arrived that I had ordered.  I got two sets of Pvblivs Teutonic knights one for a friend and one for my collection. I also got some missing pieces for my Russian Revolution figure collection. Both sets of figures  are very nice and  detailed. My only complaint on the Russian Revolution is you have to cut them off the sprue One pose that had a bayonet rifle seem to be part of the sprue.  I was afraid I was going to lose the bayonet, but with careful use of the xacto knife, I had no problem. One other figure I got from Pvblivs was their mounted musketeer. The horse is a flat, but for some reason I like the figure and will keep it out on display.

We did well with Ebay last year and 2013 looks to be another great year. I am always surprised with some of the items we sell on Ebay.  Items I would throw into junk bags are selling on Ebay.  I have a lot of exicting items  coming up for Ebay.

We have many plans for this year with the book going out to be prepared for E publishing  shortly. I had to separated the book into two parts, the book is over 600 pages.  I am doing a final rewrite and will then get part two ready.  The comedy videos are next up along with a video of how the boys like brocoli.

This Saturday I will do my first flea market with a toy show the next day. I will have two more toy shows this month weather permitting plus I will do a flea market or two.

Movies for this year the only ones I have pencil in so far for 2013 so far are Superman, Ironman 3 and The Lone Ranger. The second trailer of the Lone Ranger has grown on me.  I have designated it my popcorn movie of the year.  Laurie will pass on this movie and so I can buy popcorn and a soda and enjoy the movie. Last year’s popcorn movie was The Avengers.

Well enough for now let’s get this year started.

    Happy New Year!
I also had a pork roast this year but we had pickled red cabbage rather than sauerkraut. Close to traditional but way better.
See you at “Putty Hill” (now the Fairgrounds where I was just at a woodworking show today) perhaps.
