Alentown Toy Show Day Two The Show I went over to the show after taking Laurie to work. Arriving shortly after the show opened, I checked in with my friends. Once that was done, I started to roam the show. When I left yesterday there a number dealers still not in.
Alentown Toy Show Day Two The Show Roaming
Over all most of the tables were occupied. Two tables just had a sign in memory of a dealer. Looking over the tables I did not see anything new for me to buy.
One of the new dealers was Bob Hornung. Bob makes metal figures that we have gotten over the years including a miniature toy soldier shop. He was also the source for the Speedwell armored car on fire I had been looking for years.
Here is one his metal sets Bob does. It is Time machine. The movie is one of Laurie’s favorite movies.
I purchase this parrot flat from Bob for Laurie.
I stopped back at Kerry Dunble’s stand. He had sold most of its plastic figures.
One of the remaining lots Kerry had were Marx 54mm cowboys. In the lot were chocolate cowboys with a playset bag. What playset was this color used in?
Mike Rosso had a unusual color variation of Auburn worker. It was the first time that I have seen that color. Checking Kent’s Sprecher’s site Toy Soldier Headquarters, I saw the color in a bag set.
Alentown Toy Show Day Two The Show Final Thoughts
After three hours I decided to head for home. I had hope to see some friends but they did not show up. There was a nice crowd, they seemed to be more lookers. One fun thing I was able to show to my friends some photos I took of them at a show 40 years ago.
A sad note Kennie Chapman told me this would be his last show. I have known Kennie for 40 years he has dealt in character items.
I believe the brown 54mm cowboys were sold in a Lone Ranger playset that also had 45mm Indians.
I understand the chocolate brown cowboys were offered as a cereal mail in premium for the Lone Ranger?
Like Bob’s Time Machine set ! Looks like in the German / Heyde / style !
