Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two October 2018 Readers Contributions we have several items from our readers. First we have Detlef Heerbrand and his adding dusters to his western figures. Rich Fisher share the Disney Pirates of the Caribbeen figures. I have a few items to fill in the post.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two October 2018 Readers Contributions Detlef
Detlef has sent me some photos of some western figures he added duster coats to. The duster was used to keep trail dust of a cowboys clothes. Here we have some Plasty and Elastolin figures that Detlef added dusters to as well. The duster has not been done on many plastic western figures. One example that it was is the Britains Deetail bandit with two pistols .
Another example of Plasty and Elastolin figures with dusters.
Here is the dusters he made for the figures. I hope he will explain how he did it.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two October 2018 Readers Contributions Rich
Rich Fisher sent me some photos of Pirates of the Caribbean. This was was a Disney Store exclusive. The set was done two times. The first set the six figures were
- Captain Jack Sparrow
- Barbossa
- Will Turner
- Pintel
- Ragetti
- Davy Jones
There was a seventh figure of a dog sitting. The movie recreate one of the scenes from the Pirates of Caribbean ride. It is of two of pirates trying to bribe a dog to give them the jail keys.
The set was changed due to the second film. The pirates Pintel and Ragetti plus the dog were removed. In their place two new figures were added. They are Elizabeth Swann in pirate garb and Will Turner’s father. The set can be found on Ebay.

Here is the Timmee square cab truck. It is minus the truck canopy. As I mentioned before there are items I never see at the shows or flea markets. This is one, I wonder if when I will see another one.

Pirates sets are often sold on ebay x low price. ..
Nice poses .

Several years ago at the Marx Convention I walked by a dealer with three of the Timmee square cab trucks. Figuring the price was too high, and the crowd too sparse I passed by the table. I came back a half hour later and the vehicles were gone. I asked the dealer if he still had them but he said “No, I just sold all three for $15.”
I have learned to go ahead and ask, and don’t let rare items slip away. The two trucks I do have feature rusty axles, and one cab has a slightly bent windshield supports.
Even so the truck is well done in scale and simple cool detail.
I only have one. I resold two long ago as it is not a typical army truck and a rare model.
TM/PP as did w later armored car and odd cannon, had tendency make army toy s base in prototype or rare real life vehicles else.
It often appear in ebay listed under generic army job lot by sellers who does not know value and rarity.
I had seen go cheap often.
The cabin frame many times is broken.
It was not copied in Mexico.Neither made in Spain as the Deuce truck
My thoughts.

Like Jack, I have on several occasions at dealer tables been too slow to inquire, too slow to act, and as a result missed out on something I would have liked to have.
I love that truck! I have 4, one has the smushed cab effect going on, too. I heat-treated it and it’s better, but never completely went away. I often end up using them as ammo haulers for a battery of 155’s. The canvas cover is almost never found with it. I have one, but end up not using it anyway. I think it would be a vehicle worth copying and distributing for sale.
