Georg sent me photos of figures he has converted. Here he took a Plasty woman figure as base and turned it into a Indian woman.
The other figure is colonial or pioneer. He did not specific which. I will find out more soon.

While most of my U.S. readers are famaliar with Britains and Timpo, England had other companies that made figures. These small companies last a few years and may have not been imported into the states. Our first figures are two German from Trojan. The set had six different figures.
- Standing firing rifle
- laying firing machine gun
- grenade thrower
- officer with pistol
- running drawing with pistol
- kneeling with panzerfaust
Trojan did a series of six Australians in light tan and dark green.
The poses are
1. Advancing with rifle across the waist.
2. Laying throwing grenade
3. Soldier wounder in the arm
4 With machette and Bren Gun
5. Flamethrower
Interesting I have the flame thrower and it is in the photo. It is the figure on left. He is missing tanks and flame. Looking it at Herald Toys and Models they sold the figure with the items missing
Here we have the Trojan Australian advancing in the two different colors. Sadly the tip of of the rifle of the light tan figure is gone. These figures are by Speedwell. They are Afrika Corp Figures They did six different figures.
- Standing with machine gun at waist.
- Charging with rifle at waist soft cap
- Grenade thrower
- Standing firing rifle soft cap
- kneeling firing
- officer with movable arm According Herald Toys and Models the arm is usually missing
Speedwell figures poses are nice ,too bad very crude poor made in overall with mix modern uniforms and wooden toy weapons, horrible helmets/hats else .I did have two sets ,sold then out after few years. Not in my like.Sorry ..LS sets are a bit better in detail specially the sailors and ANZAC

I was about to say that looking at these specimens I can understand why Airfix, Timpo, and Britains kind of dominate the mind when I think of British plastic figures. JMO.
There many cheap makers of toy soldiers in UK as well were here MPC,LIDO and other .
Charben,UNA,Speedwell and Cherilea among many others did many sets and most were very poor cheap toy figures with bad quality paint job and for that were sold for less money as well .
Britain and Timpo were the UK top line in true toy soldiers line with Airfix more a model kit that introduce model “hositorial ‘ toy soldiers line along the market when toy plastic play soldiers were in their last decade of glory.
Matchbox and ESCI did come very late as competitor with Airfix with their 1/35 -1/32 non kit line and stop short in early 80 the sets production.
Yet thanks to all cheap makers many kids parents could afford many toy soldiers x their kids that could not with high price of Britain/Timpo .
Back then these were great surprises x many kids.
Today we see then as adult and after sen so much more not impressive x us .
My though…
