Besides the toy soldier show the Hess Truck Meet and Greet will be there as part of the show.
I can not reccomend enough this show to you. There is so much plastic and metal it will be over whelming. Laurie and I will be there. We be at Gerry Watts’ tables when not roaming around.
Hope to see you are there.
Hi Paul, where are the flyers at? Did you get one in the mail? I was wondering if they are going to have the tickets pre-ordered this year. Thanks, Mike.
I picked up a flyer at local train show that Bill would do in my area. I would see him there or a toy show in my area and we would talk.
It was bittersweet not seeing him there.
Thanks Paul. I saw some of the post cards last year at an antique mall in NJ, the Black Rose Antiques. I messaged them and they have not gotten back to me about pre-ordering a ticket.
Yes, Bill Lango’s passing is such a loss to the hobby, one which all the attendees who met Bill at the East Coast Show will feel personally.
Even though my location half way across the country prevents me from easily attending the show in New Jersey, I still hope that someone like the Murphys or John Stengel Jr. will take it over.
And speaking of losses to the hobby, permit me to point out that Michael Prendergast has just posted an excellent interview with Ron Barzso on Mike’s Warhorse Miniatures website. If I knew how, I’d post a link to it, but it isn’t hard to find. Perhaps Admin or even Michael himself could post the link. The interview is interesting all the way through, with great photos of many Barzso products.
I was getting ready to post a link to Mike’s interview which I have now done.
Thanks again for the referral guys. It was fun doing the interview and then researching the ideas of “what could have been” playset ideas. Paul your next up for an interview. Thanks again, Mike.
One of these years I would like to have both the time and finances to get to some of these shows while they’re still here. With the loss of so many faces for various reasons, I wonder if I’ll make it. But, as I tell myself, I’ll try not to be totally sad – if I’m the only guy left on this planet who loves toy soldiers I will sit at home and happily set up my guys, and remember my childhood and the great folks I met along the way – if only online.
Wayne, strange question, I know- do you live in Alabama? Mike
