Odds Ends Part 6 Readers Contirbution, Question Das Awkscht Fescht

Odds Ends Part 6 Readers Contirbution, Question Das Awkscht Fescht we have a number things to share. First Markus Lecksheid shares a photo of one way the bandits I am looking for were marketed. Next Erwin Sell has a question on who made some Indian figures.  I am right now getting ready for my big show of the summer  Das Aws Fescht.

Leave Markus to come up with an example of  the card the criminals came on. Markus stated that he bought the card in  small tourist shop in Luxemburg in early  2000’s. It was packaged for the French market. The set is called Police Force with three police and three criminals. Also  included is a Porsche police car.  He has never seen the cards again.

You can see the poses are different  from what I showed. Markus noted the company selling it was Gift Toy. He also thinks they had been in a Plastic Warrior article.

Erwin found three Indians on the internet he had not seen before. He would like to know who made them.  Do you recognize them?

Odds Ends Part 6 Readers Contirbution, Question Das Awkscht Fescht  Toy Show Time

My last major toy show of the summer is the Das Awkscht Fescht.  This show has been going on for more than 50 years.  It started as car show and added on a toy show which has had many interesting items show up over the years.  The show is held in Macungie PA.

The toy show  is a two day affair. On Friday, the outside dealers set up. They are located  in the parking lots of Shoemaker and Macungie elementary schools, which are behind Eyer Middle school. Saturday beside the outdoor show there is an indoor show in the Eyer Middle School.

I will be roaming around on both days.  One of the outdoor stand is Mike Russo. He has a wide range of figures. You never know what he will have.  I will check in with him and when I leave as I only spend a few hours each  days.  If you are going here is their web site.

You know Brian in all my years of going to the shows in the UK I do not remember seeing them. Also there is so much to look at a short time. Here in the U.S. I can quickly scann a booth with no problems. AT PW I have to go over a table much longer especially if it has wide range of figures.

      • They do turn up at the PW show (as does everything eventually), they are hard to find but not sought after. They are a little taller but less bulky than Marx so don’t really go well with them. They have been covered in the Plastic Warrior Cherilea Special.

      Thank you much Brian!!!
      They looks nice well done..
      Too bad that scale.
      Best…

The cops & robbers figures remind me of the cowboys & Indians. I have bought out of shops in UK called Tiger. You got four cowboys in the same sort of packaging as the cops & robbers for a pound also four Indians they look the same make to me they are a sort of rubber.

Very likely the these two companies used the same packager and could get their name done on the cards as they had enough orders.

  3. Les White says:

The Cops and Robbers turned up in the UK in the early 2000’s as part of a large playset over the Christmas period. It was a boxed set with 2 building fronts, bank and Police Station, that clipped together like a carry-all, the 6 figures shown on the card , an ambulance with 2 attendants and stretcher, Plus a group of figures that I haven’t seen offered in any other packaging – female TV news reporter, TV cameraman, Press photographer and probably the most inappropriate pose for a kids toy set, a masked gunman holding a female hostage in front of him with his gun to her head, it was a single piece in a similar sculpting style to the masked man shown in the pic above.

I have the set. I was able through Peter Evans to get it. I will Bring it down from the attic and photograph hopefully this week.

      • ERWIN F SELL says:

        You should post it.
