Odds Ends Part Four June 2018 Doctor Dolittle Figures Mystery Figures Doctor DooLittle
Kent Sprecher shared a photo with us of the complete Doctor Dolittle figure set. The set was a giveaway by Royal Pudding. It was done in 1967 and contains nine figures. Doctor Dolittle and eight animals. The figures were made by Mattel which were the main licensor for the movie. I got the figure in a junk box.
Odds Ends Part Four June 2018 Doctor Dolittle Figures Mystery Figures Space Figures
Erwin Sell sent me a photo of four space figures. He knew that the figure on the far left was from a series from Galoob. It was called the Trash Bag Bunch issued in 1991. The set contain thirty-six different figures 18 good guys and 18 Bad guys. They did a second set in Europe which did not sell. The figures will sell from $2 to $5.00 on average on Ebay. Second series go for $50.00 and more a piece.
Erwin was not famaliar with the the other three figures. I recognized the orange figure right away as being from Ken Toys. The figure is Dan Dare England’s equivlent of Buck Rogers. Recently a set of the six figures sold in the UK for 180 pounds ($239.40)
The other two figures in white are the Corgi Buck Rogers. The figure was sold with a space ship and his robot friend Twiki. Many times you can find these figures loose in UK.
Odds Ends Part Four June 2018 Doctor Dolittle Figures Mystery Figures Flea Market
I was doing my weekday flea market looking for items when I spotted a Processed Plastic Two and Half truck. It was missing the top and had some paint on it. I felt someone would be interested in it. I asked the price and was pleased and decided to buy it. The dealer next tells me I have to take all this other stuff with it at no additonal cost. So I ended up with plastic army helmet, some figures and two dolls plus the truck. The figures will go into a junk bag. The helmet and one of the dolls will end up ina box for auction. The other doll is General Halftrack from Beetle Bailey which I will give a try on Ebay.
The figure in yellow is Digby, Dan Dares co pilot and general batman.
He was used as comic relief in the strips.
Dan Dare always wore an orange jumpsuit
Thanks for the update
The figure I have has a yellow color.photo dark the color more.
However the paint looks as if was retouched over.
I will sale it off as not my interest.
Best.
Thanks to your link to the Trash Bag Bunch page, I have identified 3 mysterious rummage sale finds I have had kicking around since the mid 90s! I own Janitox, Garbeast and Waster!
I happen to find the pose of Dr Sheen in garage sale as well three Grimestopper poses that i find very good match as any space troopers to match in 54/56 mm scale with my collection, rest are more charter type figures in my opinion.
The interesting history how they were sold is curious to me ,while googling the brand name i found the link site of them and like share together with other figures Admin identify x me and i will sale off as I’m not interested in Dan dare comics and others

I picked up the Dolittle figure in green some years ago. I also have the model of the Flonder.I looked it up on line, found asite that has the original model from the movie.
No !-It is NOT “Dan Dare” but his trusty,Northern Co-pilot -Digby!
They went to “infinity and beyond in the 1950′ Classic comic The eagle!
Peter Evans already gave the correction on the figure. I am aware of Dan Dare but have not read any of the books. I have read Judge Dredd.
Dan Dare is portraid in a Red space suit!-Indeed the Ken toys figure has moving arms-which is why he is almost always found -“Un armed”-he did have a “ray gun ” in his right hand!
The Treens Rule and the Mekon rules the Treens!
Me either ,so that is why i’m selling him off .Did not like the figure much either ,,the helmet looks like old biker fix helmet and too simple made mechanic dress in my personal like…
The figure is in style of 50’s Science fiction pulp. The figure’s suit is like the one in comic book it is based on.
In my opinion… MARX 50s are more futurist.
Same the early LIDO and Flash Gordon, BR metal figures.
So I skipped.
