Commonwealth Dolls of the World Giveaways

One of my recent finds at a show were the Commonwealth  Dolls of the World on stands. Kent Sprecher  mentions on  his web site that the Dolls of the world were used as an ice cream giveaway. They were put on stand and placed in the ice cream. Kent does not have a picture and I have not gotten a chance to email him to verify. We will keep you posted what we find out.

I have an Aunt, that would definitely like those. She collects dolls. Very unusual figures. They are different. I have never seen anything like them before.

  2. I have a picture of the Tastee Freez plastic bowl with Van Brode figure on my Premiums page. Feel free to copy and paste it. The Commonwealth figures were first made in 1952 so if yours date from the late 60s I would thing they were put on the bases to sell individually.

The figures have no date. Yes the Van Brode figures were done on a bowel for a giveaway. I mention that the Commonwealth figures possible could have been in ice cream base on the comments on your site. The figures could sold this way in stores. Until packaging or information comes out we will not know how they were sold.

I think you have the Cambodian Temple Dancer facing backwards!
