Plastic Figure Showcase Part Six June 2018 It’s Figure Time this time we are going to look at some interesting figures. We will look at some Starlux figures then Alien figure that Erwin found. Also some interesting animals that I have added to the collection.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Six June 2018 It’s Figure Time Starlux
Starlux did many different figures. They did a series of Arab figures in both traditional dress and military uniforms. We have an Arab in the traditional dress with sword. I will have to check how many Arab figures they did.
I like to get civilan figures from other countries. Sometimes they are different from us and other times similar. The figure on the left is a man for road work. He has his stop sign and yellow uniform as our people have. The figure is a military figure. I do not who made him. He will useful in either on a street secene or command situation. At the Plastic Warrior Show I picked up a number of Starlux farm figures. I did not know why I bought them but they all sold! These figures could be used in western setting.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Six June 2018 It’s Figure Time Animals
Jean of Germany did a series of animals. Here is the Moose very well detailed. The figure on the right is a seal. I thought it might be a Timmee item, but checking Kent Spercher’s site it is not. Do you know who made him?
The figure on the left is one of the LBG figures.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Six June 2018 It’s Figure Time Alien
Erwin Sell found this alien for me. I have no idea who made it. It reminded me of the creatures from a movie called Invaders of Mars. It is not exactly the same just remind how my one friend loved that movie. We saw it in the theater and played it for the next few weeks.
The Arabs by Starlux are interesting,in my opinion they represent the Arab legion of early Israeli/Arab Wars .With the civilian type clotting I think as far i have and see 3 standard poses in same leg position but they differ one has face cover ,other head turn sideways and other looking forward straighten with minor clothing gear variation detail as well.
Their arms are the one were made varied with many different weapons such with M38 french SMG ,German weapons ,swords ,sabers pistos else and saluting or pointing but very static poses.Arms could be position in many lower to high poses .
In the other hand they did a second set army type arbs with alike turban headwear but modern uniform in 4 legs and head different position with minor detail gear differences and again using many arms plug in/swivel variation to give then more variation.Too bad not pose shooting or davancing was made as in other sets

I like the Jean Hoeffler moose. Very well done.
Also the blue Starlux farm figures are unique. I can see why they didn’t last long. I’m assuming they are hard plastic, but they look like they might be soft. Which is it?
the blue Starlux are hard plastic. I do not know if they were end stock or for a paint set. I have gotten the pioneers unpainted.
When I got the arabs they were unpainted in white , yellow , geen and that exact same blue
I this these were the last production stock before they stop.
As far I know all Starlux are hard plastic but the stiffness of early figures is harder than later.

My second biggest mistake in toy soldier collecting (after my biggest mistake of selling off my Elastolin collection) was selling off my Starlux collection, much of which I had acquired from James Delson (in the 1980s, I’m thinking) when he suddenly started importing Starlux in bulk.
Don, you really enjoy the Toy Shows….why not plan now to attend the biggest European shows next year and bring several very large empty suitcases. You could probably re-acquire all that you sold off and then some.
You will have a great time. Plastic Warrior Show is good start. Some items you will have sticker shock (Britains Deetail). Other items will be reasonable and you will find items you never knew about I did that this with the Clairet Western Woman (sheriffs wife). the show will be one day but you will remember it for a lifetime. You then do sight seeing which we did on our trips. Plus the food is great. Prince of Teck is a great pub.
Sophie the Seal is from a 1967 Royal Shaka Pudding give away premium set of Dr.Doolittle figures.
The road worker appears to be a STARLUX figure from a set originally made in 20mm size and possibly 40mm. See this Ebay listing showing the other poses.
