I love the chariot.Looking to see more in this period.Hope if start with romans do the early roman period or later republic with correct armor and shields .
About the Napoleonic British I think is not correct represent mix the old early hat/shako with later period short tunic and pants detail. But I had not touch in detail the photos not the research versus my data as im using my phone pixels pictures small size only.
So far EXP is the true real king toy soldiers maker in plastic in last 40 years as he had over produced AIP by now and cover more periods plus far more detailed figures and adaptation poses.
    My thoughts.

I think you are correct, the pose with the bicorne hat should have long tails on his coat and hessian boots, the common uniform for a British Officer pre 1812.
The set will work as a Post 1812 set, just don’t use the bicorne.
Maybe the British Command with flags, Drums, etc set will have the older coat ,which would solve the problem in fielding a Pennisular Campaign British unit.
I noted a bit of scale creep shown in the pic with the painted officer next to a unpainted Infantryman. It could be the thickness of the base of course, it’s difficult to tell from one photo. Hopefully the scale will be constant across the range.

  2. I like the Celtic Barbarians so far. I can’t wait to see more of these figures. The British troops look good too. Like Erwin said they are the kings of plastic right now. It seems like every few months they produce a new set and enter another phase of production with different eras. They are starting to get to the eras that I collect. I will get some of the Woodland Indians, the Celts, and some of those American militia. I can’t wait until they do the WWII Japanese Infantry.

Got to hand it to them they are smart, they keep the same basic sculpts with a few uniform & weapon changes, has to cut down the costs considerably. They pretty much have a modular operation going, the poses are good, they are wonderfully engineered, what’s not to like aside maybe from the price. They have obviosuly done their homework and combined the best of many different worlds. Take a part of Marx put together cowboys, Contes movable arms and to some extent swoppets and you have a winner.

  4. John Wallace says:

That Celtic chariot looks amazing: looking forward to the Romans : also hope the Peasant Wars and W.W. 2 Japanese can be squeezed in next year. Well done Ex-Force!

  5. Tom Black says:

Looking forward to the Celts! Only thing it will be such a challenge for me to paint the plaid needed for their pants and cloak. I’ve had the Italeri Gauls for years but have put off the painting. Also hope the Medieval Peasants are in the works soon.

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

I did mine,Italeri celts ,will like post then one day here ,took me long in time when i can paint ,now i can not .LOL

    • H. Paas says:

you can use bits of tape for that cut little squares

      • TDBarnecut says:

High tech 2018 version for toy soldier plaid: Scan actual plaid material and use laser printer to print it out on clear decal transfer or clear adhesive media. Are you guys still in the 20th century?

  6. Carl Cwiklinski says:

Finally, some figures to pass for Generals Brock or Pakenham.

  7. H. Paas says:

YES A CELTIC BARBARIAN RANGE AYE??

  8. Evan Oelrichs says:

When can we expect the british? I know Peter usually gets it a few days early

  9. Николай Смирнов says:

    Friends, barbarians many!
Who else but you will make a normal Carthage?!

    • Erwin says:

Well actually Hat company did cartaginian several armies sets CTS did one set too .But their scale will not quite match EXF .
Most Cartaginian soldiers were mercenary from Macedonian, Greece, Iberia, celts gauls and northern arfrican, even some Italians as well.So there plenty brand ancient sets there to be use for them.
      My thoughts.
      Best.
