Brussels Toy Soldier Show May 2018 Markus Lecksheid went to the Brussles show. This show get dealers from France, Germany and Netherlands. Markus had to get up at 4:15AM to get there. It was worth the trip as he got a number of items for his collection.
Brussels Toy Soldier Show May 2018 The Show
While he had to get up early the trip was nice and worth while. There was a nice mix of plastic with some composition and metal. Lots of Starlux figures for sale, but there was Spanish and Italian figures as well.
Most of the figures on the table Britains You canbritains Herald, Deetail and swoppets. On the shelves are compostion.
The two boxes to the right have various spanish plastic figures.
Two castles and Fort Kansasm the castle are by Starlux. I am not sure on the fort.
On this table various Spanish and Italian figures
The table on the right has various Britains vehicles Two nice castles in the background
What a nice mix of figures. One box has Charbens pirates. Another box has Spanish and Jean figures. I am sure Laurie would be going through Starlux box of Dinosaurs. I will have to do an article on the Starlux dinosaurs.
One of the boxes in the front could be one of the many one or two Euros figure box that Markus saw at the show.
There was lots of Starlux figures for sale. Here is just one of the tables with Starlux.
Brussels Toy Soldier Show May 2018 Alain Thomas
This is Alain Thomas holding his latest book on French Plastic. His books are excellent. the book he is holding is one of the smaller French companies Acedo. Markus also bought figures from him.
I have not heard yet from Markus on what figures he got. When he does we will let you know.
Impressive in all photo .Hope Markus found many deals as he usually does .
I agree in Alain books and as usual French and Spaniard books are the best in toy soldiers quality photos ,paper and data with enormous amount detail even in artist ,makers else .
Alain Thomas books are highly recommended .
My thoughts.
Brussels looks like a great show with many tantalizing items for sale — castles, forts, figures — many things that pop up in our U.S. shows, but not nearly in as much abundance. It would be a real treat to be able to attend.
And Brussels seems like an outstanding site for a toy soldier show, it being such a historic city, as well as the current headquarters for NATO (I think).
Great variety and selection of European made figures – harder to find in the U.S.
Is there a good website with locations of ‘toy soldier’ shops in Europe?
I have a good eclectic collection of the more popular available figures but I always looking for quality figures from smaller European companies.
There is no site with a list of toy soldier shops. There is Steve Weston of UK and PB Toys of Germany. I am sure our readers can give you other suggestions.
