It is super well done. Because of pacifist protest,it be will be taken down and stored away.  Erwin went to see it before taken down. It  is very sad  that history can be erase from everywhere today.

While most people know about Lido Aliens. Less people are aware of  Thomas Toys aliens or space figures. The set has six different figures.  The figures were made also in UK using the Thomas Toys molds.

I keep running into these  Hong Kong swoppets. The figures are very simple with three colors. Blue for the body and hat. Flesh for the head. Brown for the hair.

Thanks for posting the Untouchables conversions pics, kinda blurry though.
That diorama is fantastic. It never occurs to the people objecting to the diorama that the struggle it depicts helped to defend and protect their right to protest?

  2. ERWIN F SELL says:

I like all conversion, the miners mix parts used are great ideas.
First time ever see those chinese swoppet US odd cavalry but i can tell they are copies of italian brand ISAS as i have few ,of course not that off but same coats as they used the Red shirt italian soldiers as canadian and US cavalry ,pretty much same way NARDI did.
Thomas toys- Tudor or Poplar space figures are in my want list …
    best

Think the PT diorama is when Dugout Doug split for Australia.

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

Though same but looking closely the officers are low ranking in exhibition ,so i do not know ,was very well done display and huge ,over 24 feet long ,split in two sections.Best

  4. Peter Evans says:

Sorry but Erwin’s comment will have to have a slight edit.
The US cavalry figures were made in the 1970s in Hong Kong and if you look closely they are solid versions of ELASTOLIN swoppet figures. The heads are direct copies.
They were sold in England in tiered boxed sets by JHT Ltd, the boxes were made to look like comic pages with “Blam” “Pow”, etc. printed on the card in flash bubbles.
Native Americans were also available, never saw cowboys. The other series were modern US Infantry in a Mid Green – Paul has shown this particular figure on his site in the past

    • Mark T. says:

I had a box each of the cavalry/indians and the modern US which I got in the mid-late 70s. I had two different poses of cavalry than the ones shown, and an Indian with a rifle at his waist. I always liked the shape of the cowboy hats on the cavalrymen better than the Timpo cowboy hats. My US infantry had a man kneeling with what looked like a WW2 era rifle and a standing man firing an M16 and a sec0nd standing man with M16 at port arms. The modern US did not have separate hair, but rounded heads with a hole to fit the peg in the helmet. As Peter says, they are definitely Elastolin swoppet clones which I found out as an adult when I discovered Elastolin swoppets on eBay. Did they ever have an enemy set for the modern US?

      • ERWIN F SELL says:

        Mark.
I have those modern Gi’s ,if not mistaken the bases are attached and solid minus head with helmet ,three poses have M16 ,three are with what looks WW2 but they come along in one window box HK from Welo that was a distributor of many .
I also got two lose poses from adim-stads no long ago same poses but with berets instead helmet
The other modern i know are variants of Cherilea and herald made in HK and some rare hybrids make to looks as Germans but body are else.
        best

Yes ,sad, it was a donation made my veterans collectors to a private museum that after years got fired and was pass to this mall, then after few complain will be taken down and storage who knows where .Probably few yeas x now will show in ebay x sale all split and else.
Next to me there were few young tens (16-18) approx they all were admiring it but were confused as to where Batan a/Corregidor were and what US did there back then !? I point it to small short plate explaining in vague words what events were those so they could read a bit and told then just grab your phone google and it will come pretty much quick more data x you to read.
          best
