Happy 7th Anniversary Stadstuff WordPress 2018 this marks my using this blog system. I had previousily had used Microsoft’s Front Page. Problem was the computer crashed and Microsoft no longer supported it. I was reccomended to try Word Press and have been happy ever since.
Happy 7th Anniversary Stadstuff WordPress 2018 Refelecting
Looking back at last year’s comment on this anniversary, I talked about the site’s accomplishments. I have been doing this from beginning days of Stad’s. Each typed list would have comments on our hobby. For many people this was their life line to the hobby until advent of PFPC and the internet.
With the closing of Stad’s lists I still wanted to keep doing my thing. The internet allowed me to share photos of Laurie’s and my adventures. I could now show photos of new figures many times months before they got into the printed media. Most of all be a voice in the hobby when need be.
If we look back at the previous year you can see we have continued that goal. I am amazed how many new figures have come out from Russia and Eastern Europe. The prices have been on many sticker shock, yet they sell. Laurie and I have been doing shows in the states and finding material. At times it can be hard.
I have had to counter point some comments that have been out on the internet. I laugh how this one sad twerp tries to upset me. His latest was attacking me for using Word Press and having long 400 word articles. He feel that you do not need long articles for ranking my reply is whoppee ding dong. I like following the suggestions of Yoast my SEO (Search engine optimization). Not all my articles reach the 300 words suggested for ranking. I know I am doing something right with the number of views the articles get and comments we recieve.

I am still looking at various plug ins I want to add but don’t get the time. One plug in if anyone using WordPress I reccomend is Askimet. It has blocked almost 150,000 pieces of spam over the last seven years.
We figure on another exicit interesting year for Stadsstuff.

I used to love getting your lists. Even when PFPC appeared on a bi-monthly basis, your lists served as an enjoyable supplement. I think there were very few of your lists that I didn’t call you up to place an order for several items. It seemed like there was always so much material, with a constant introduction of new figures.
The internet no doubt has its advantages, but I still enjoy holding a newsletter or magazine in my hand.
But congratulations on successfully making the transition.
That is what my list were know for the unusal but interesting items and the promotion of new product. I keep looking which is hard at times restricted to the states.

It has been mentioned in plastic soldiers collectors magazine as well by publisher of plastic reviews Brian Blake as well.

Happy Anniversary. I remember the lists too, it’s because of your lists that I started collecting again. It’s been a long run, I’m glad that it is still running.
I remember Stad’s “Introduction to Plastic Toy Soldiers” special, over 20 (5?) years ago. It came with a generous selection of many different figures, and an issue of “THE WORLDS OF PLASTIC FIGURES” newsletter. Boy I wish I could get reprints of those – lots of memorable history contained in therein.
