Axel Sohnius Enhance Western Scenes Wooden Buildings Herne Germany March 2018

Axel Sohnius Enhance Western Scenes Wooden Buildings Herne Germany March 2018 will be on sale at German Plastic Show.  If you remember  at the last German Plastic Show Axel did Viking Fort. This time Axel did some enhancements to some wooden buildings that he had. Europe got wooden buildings instead of tin litho that we got.  Axel felt they would sell better with these enhancements.

The first building is  a mine office. Axel added two figures one a guard and a miner with a pick axe.  The figures with this building and others are conversions Axel did.

Sheriff office with Matt Dillion and Miss Kitty. I like how Axel made new figures. He used parts of Elastolin, Starlux and other figures.

Another of the building Axel did is a post office.

Here is a closeup of the figures and accessories. I like the figures as really they enhances your western scene with non-adult males.  The postal service was an important part  of western life keeping in touch with the outside world.

This is one of two different grocery stores Axel did. I like all the accessories he has placed around the store and the two different women.

Here we have  a closer look at the detail work Axel has done. Iwonder how many of the tools are homedae? I notice the guard’s body from a Timpo British soldier.

Those are beautiful buildings AND converted figures! I always liked the European style wooden wild west towns. When I was a kid I recall seeing a whole table of boxes of western buildings at a store in my city that sold imported toys. I was pretty small and my mother thought they were model kits and so I didn’t get any. I managed to get a fort in that style on eBay a few years ago but I would love to get a whole town. Very nice pictures, Axel, Thank you!

  2. It’s nice that he’s kept everything in the Timpo style, I think they will go down well at the German Show.

The houses and conversion are awesome .
the use of Timpo blend well
They remain me all western nice houses from former DDR brands I had as child and saw at toy conventions. It was only former Communist bloc country that produce most beautiful and greatest amount toy soldiers in plastic rubber ,yet the houses followed the tradition of Elastolin and others in been of light wood type very well done .I lost all then but seen many often at ebay today x deal prices lot .The amount of building they did was huge in variation as well.
Some were better than others. The fort often not that realistic.
For political reason they only did cowboys and indians and animals most when covering US history .Not soldiers .Funny !!!
Yet their main line figures were indeed US western above all with few knights,colonial/africans and modern soldiers(Most post WW2 WARSAW pact)
The wagons and train were same scale match ,so the nice armor and tanks i have few left with some soldiers .The paint colors work was spectacular well done by most brands and far superior to Polish made figures of same era very crude painted and done in most .Of course Russian -Soviets era were the worst toy figures i saw back then .
Their (DDR brands)scale was as Elastolin as well most figures of course in some copies of other western and elastolin poses in other complete new sets .There several full color books catalog of their production worth have them.
    best

This is some great work! So much can be done with them, too. The figure conversions are flawless and posed naturally. I feel the fun just looking at the pics.
