The set was made in Hong Kong by a company called MRS.  Did anyone know  what the letters stood for?

Next Andreas had questions on these three figures. Here is what he said. And can you identify some of the three other circus figures? They are: not from the same set or maker, modern, the lion has “China” on one leg and is hard-plastic glued together from two halves (to me he looks like a “Lion King lion”. The director is soft-plastic and the elephant full-rubber and very heavy.

The middle figure which Andreas called director or  animal trainer is not circus related. The way the hook the figure is holding is more to be caught by a toy. stranger still is the fry pan in his right hand.

Andreas sent this photo of a various copies of the Lone Star Tarzan andAfrican native. If you see the figure in purple  he reprsents the Phantom from the comic Strip.

Erwin found  two interesting items on Ebay. Both are molds that are being offered from the late collection of Chuck Sault.  Chuck bought in 1985 Marx molds and models for 2.35 million dollars. He passed away in 2000. These molds and models were sold in 2000.

The first offering is the steel model for the 60mm President Eisenhower.

The other offering is of the Dagwood Family prototype. This is very interesting shows how the designers mot only the figures steel molds.

the figure with the hook reminds me of the assorted figures that were in the mattel vertibird sets. it’s not the same as the one i had, which held the ring with both hands, but there were a number of set variations.

Darren awesome job ,hard to figured out if original ,i like how well you blend the poses in mact style armor else.
    best

  3. Darren Hatley says:

Thanks Erwin the last 2 Knights are as i’m sure most of the people on Stads will know that they are Timpo King Arthur Knights Cavalry that ive turned into Infantry. As for all the other Knights I dont know what make they are or what country made them, But originally they were about 40mm tall with my pet hate very small legs, So as ive done on many figures I cut the legs off and replaced them with various taller Knights legs to make them 50mm to 54mm figures, And finally gave them all a full paint job.

    • Mark T. says:

Those 40mm knights were from 1980s Sword & Sorcery playsets by HG Toys. Nice little figures, but you have improved on them greatly by bringing them up to 54mm scale!

  4. Darren Hatley says:

Thanks Mark ive done this with many other figures because I think they can easily pass for 1/32 scale figures, And thanks for the information.

  5. Darren Hatley says:

Thanks again fellas for the information. Beleive it or not I dont have any of those HG Toys Vikings, I have seen some on ebay from time to time mainly in the U.S. but most sellers are asking postage costs of around £20 while the figures themselves are only around £5 or there abouts, But i’m afraid I wont pay that kind of postage costs and i’m sure most sellers there could send them for no more than £6 if they really wanted to. Sometimes I sell figures myself on ebay and I only charge £6 to £7 for a small parcel abroad and I very rarely get any trouble. So until I see some on sale with very reasonable postage I will have get them later hopefully, And yes Mark I think I could improve some of the poses and bring them up to at least 50mm or maybe 54mm.
