Engineering Bassevitch Ruso-Japanese War Russians we now photos for both sides. Because of the number of poses we do two separate posts. First up are the Russians. The set will have 13 figures with twelve different poses. The figure standing with bayonet rifle has had a mismolded bayonet.
Engineering Bassevitch Ruso-Japanese War Russians The Figures
As mention before the set has 13 figures in set twelve different.
The set has the following poses.
- Officer with binoculars
- Flagbearer this is the first one done by Engineer Bassevitch
- Officer with map in his right hand and pointing to left.
- Officer firing pistol left arm is in a sling
- Russian soldier sitting firing machine gun.Laurie like this pose
6.Knelling firing rifle
7. Russian with a shovel this figure was inspire by theMarx pirate with a shovel. The figure was done for the fortification of Port Arthur.
8. Soldier standing with bayonet rifle. The bayonet has mismolded so the set has the figure without the bayonet. The second is the revised pose.
9. Advancing with knife in his right hand.
The remaining three poses are as follow:
10. Soldier standing firing rifle
11. With sword in his right hand figure is looking back
12. Officer with sword in his right hand waving his men on. Foot is on rock
Engineering Bassevitch Ruso-Japanese War Russians Final Thoughts
I think that this is a well balance set. Igor on his facebook lament on complains of redo standard poses like the kneeling and firing poses. I disagree as these are poses that are needed in just about any set. I like the soldier shoveling as it can be used in other settings. My favorite figure of the group is the officer firing pistol with arm in the sling. I wonder if it was inspired by the Crescent 60mm cavalry officer with pistol and arm in the sling. a question I will ask Igor.
Nice. Looks like these can be used for WW1 and Russian Revolution also.
Some may be use x WW2 too or even previews wars with conversion but x price and few poses in each set not that good
my thoughts..
As one who has used a shovel I can tell you that the figure pictured is using a scoop, not a shovel. His companion figure should be a horse. 🙂
Figures 7 and 8 are Sailors.
I think the one with shovel is actually a navy stoker with a coal shovel.
I like how the Russians do a set with 12 different figures. US makers only seem to do 4 figures and make you buy them in a bag of 16. I always feel ripped off with all the repeat poses.
I don’t know but as far I know US makers such CONTE,AIP ,CTS ,AUSTIN,TSSD ,BARZSO ,ATS do set of 8 to 10 poses least in most .Even TCUNNYNGHAM made 6 poses and PARAGON do 4 body with swivel arms and different heads to create plenty diferent poses .LOD do 4 to 10 poses sets .
Now this Russian maker EB do a sets of 10/14 poses with few in action ,most odd officer or boring poses .
my thoughts.
best.
