German Plastic Figure Show Report 2 December 2017 Axel’s Report

Axel gave me his impressions of the Herne show. His wife Doris and I arrived at half past eight. This was two hours before the show opened to the public. As they arrived the first of snow of the year started. they had to hurry to get their boxes in before they got wet.  People from the southern part of Germany told Axel much now on the mountains there.

Axel had a large table  with three other people.  As the show started the saw many of their old friends. Only a few from Austria and Switzerland were missing.  At the show no surpises of rarities turned up. On the other hand where on the continent can you find such a rich choice of standard figures?
Axel  found some metal casts of Phoenix to paint in the winter.  He took some missing bits to complete the next conversions. One thing  Axel  found was a complete Gio Pi Indian swoppet. He had been looking for this figure for years.  His colors
are so awfull that the seller called him a fire brigade man.

Axel sold good.  His Viking fort did not sell but the Cherilea figures he did for it sold.

He had bought reissues  and painted them to high standards.  Two brothers from Netherlands took them home. They had played with them when they were children.

German Plastic Figure Show Report 2 December 2017Another item Axel sold was this conversion. He had done it for a party who never bought it.

Axel sent these two other photos

Axel  noted this new collectors are concern about buying Timpo figures . On Ebay according to Axel you can find such a lot stuff with resin or tin recasts that are not described honestly. The collectors talked about the fourth generation ACW ( the white glove figures).that were sold on Ebay and described by you in PW mag. They say that they
were sophisticatedly descibed as “Timpo Toys figures and western figures” so
if the lying firing ones are discovered as being fakes no judge can cancel
the purchase.
