Chris got this cowboy and is trying to  find out who made it. The figure looks to be a mounted figure.  Erwin thinks it might be Spanish or a copy.  Do you have any idea?

Erwin spotted this at Target. They are selling a two figure set of World  of Warcraft figures.  The figures are 60mm in height and sell for $7.49 a set.

I first came aware of this color variation from an article in Playset magazine.  The article done by Mark Hegeman which associates it with the song McNamara’s Band. Marx released this figure in green instead of the red normally seen. this is the first time I have seen this color variation.  It was the only one the party had.

I picked up a lot of the Replicants Civil War figures. With the exception of wounded guy they had first been made for Marksmen.  One figure I am not sure of is the Confederate stabbing.  Is he Replicants or not?

Here we have Quinn and Sparky taking a nap. Percy was on the other end off the sofa.  One of the things they do is take the blankets we have on the sofa and stuff them  down the back to push the cushions out.  I have neve seen them do it and despite the manytimes I have remove and reset the cushion.

I believe the guy stabbing is Call to Arms (CTA).

  2. ed borris says:

I believe Len is correct and I think the wounded guy is a Replicants too, only he came off his base.

  3. ERWIN SELL says:

I like Quinn and Sparky poses….

I have a confusing about cowboy .I think because revolver sculpture detail is not from Spain but British made or copied from or italy.Spaniards cowboys figures w exception of Lafredo never detail the revolver barrel so well. They were more into depiction of figure poses and clothing/armor where they excel a lot ,the weapons were never take much in consideration. So i take back possibility of Spaniard made figure x now.
    my thoughts.

  5. Andy says:

The stabbing with bayonette guy is Call To Arms set #16 4 man CSA Infantry. The best way I have to distinguish them and Accurate from Replicants is by Rep’s thick bases.

  6. ed borris says:

I can’t figure out who that cowboy is, he looks to be farily well done, the revolvers look good and it appears he even has his guns tied down. I guess it’s possible he’s a conversion, hard to tell from that phtograph. It also looks like the stirrups are part of the sculpt. That color would usually indicate some cheaply made figure , but he’s done fairly well.

    • TDBarnecut says:

The cowboy has similarities to the Airfix cowboys. Could be a conversion from those.

      • TDBarnecut says:

Looks like a combo of the upper half of one of the kneeling poses with the lower half of one of the mounted poses. But still probably a clone.

        • TDBarnecut says:

I’d like to make some conversion clones similar to this from the Airfix cavalry figures. Maybe add some kepis or other changes to make it interesting.

      • ERWIN SELL says:

The cowboy is not a conversion but solid molded figure ,if was derived by mixing two original poses to create a new mold pose it could be well had been done.I agree in appearance to british poses. While legs looks as from other .Not first time poses are done as that ,even in early times of productions in plastics ,companies such Lone Star did use the Herald early cowboys indians to create their poses by using Herald master poses cut at waist and plunging into torso of one figure onto legs another ,creating new poses of course but literally copying others master artist carving .Very cheap way instead pay artist made all new figures .Same principle was over used by many brads around world before HK or chinese did same.
        best..

  7. Jack Gibbons says:

The WarCraft figures have been on the liquidations isle at ToysRus for the past three months.

  8. ERWIN SELL says:

Another example these scale figures ,not matter what are made and represent are not good sale x long now.
Every time a new line come is discontinued righ away.Star wars,LOTR,games of thrones, walking death,Forces Valor, century 21,Can Do and others.
Not space no room x these are main retailers.Bigger articulated action figure type are the main sales x kids of today. Those trying go 1/32 scale fail all time.
    sad but true..
    my thoughts

I have a complete set of 6 mtd REAMSA cowboys, which I received from a friend in Spain. One looks exactly like the figure in the picture, except mine are light brown plastic/factory painted. Detail on the pistol/everything looks the same as mine. I believe I read that these were some of the last series of figures. I have a set of Indians to go with them. All about 54mm. Mike

  10. Mike Mullins says:

Check out the PLASTIC TOY SOLDIERS hardback book by Juan Hermida. There are pics of the figure in that book. BEST Spanish pistol sculpt I’ve seen.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Mike you nail it.I was then close first when though was made in spain, then take back trying remember the poses.
You made me go to catalogs and books and research and thanks to you i recognized now.
Yes ;it is revised pose of the early pose number 4 from catalog numerical mold pose order.the pose was made with another revised mounted firing rifle pose for stagecoach assault set in last production 70s .The pose early has head looking forward buy revolver not as detailed as this.
Ironically the pose with best detail weapon ,not usually made by Reamsa, but was not designed by the british sculptor who did others.
The poses were made after early mold had suffered damage .
I had the old and new and will dig then to do picture…
      Thanks so much Mike .
      best
