Reader's Contributions Figure Acessories More September 2017Erwin Sell found this resin bison in a Dollar Tree.

The buffalo Erwin feels would work well with 54 and 60mm figures.

Reader’s Contributions Figure Acessories More September 2017 Atlantic

Reader's Contributions Figure Acessories More September 2017Atlantic did a series of vacuum form fortifications.  I do not know if they were sold in the United States. I had some of them which I got from Canada before I sold them. Markus Lecksheid has share one of these pieces. The one we have here is the long wall.  Above photo shows the front of the box.

Here is all five figures together.  the Chintoy Civil War will work well with Marx, but slightly undersized for TSSD and Conte Collectibles.

  1. Erwin says:

When the Jaru clone come out?
Will be great if they clone the #51.it will definitely be a big purchase and lower the vintage prices. So far they copy it very good.
    Best

  2. Brian Johnson says:

Yeah if they use their brains and do the “51” tank that would be something to get excited about,”41″ tank not so much.

  3. Daniel Murphy says:

I was buying bags that included a JaRu cloned Marx tank and a few cloned Marx GIs at Big Lots back in the 90s. The tanks were well-made in a good plastic. The GIs were a bit smaller and with less detail than the originals, but also nice to have. I haven’t seen any of these in a store for many years.

    • Erwin says:

I never seen those at Macfrugal.
I think that was old Big lot name.
I have a HK copy of the tank w HK copies of Marx 10 poses GIs from a 70s HK Marx set made, but not same as this.It is smaller.
      Interesting items and find.
      Best

  4. The tank copies were first made 15-20 years ago. Note the dual MGs they have in the turret vs the single MG in the Marx piece. When I first saw them years ago at the dollar tree they came on a blister card with about six copies of Marx 54mm GIs.

  5. Mark T. says:

I just got a better tank, at least scale wise. This tank is 8 inches long and perfect for 54mm or 60mm. It seems to be based on the same M46 Patton tank the Marx is but as I said it is in scale to 54mm figures.

I got two tanks at TJ Max in bags with 4 ugly 3 3/4 inch GI Joe clones and ugly German Shepherd, an undersized HumVee and an oversized Soviet HMG and some plastic rocks for 5 dollars a bag this Saturday. The tanks, with help from my imagination, are going to stand in for KV-1s to help my “Marx” and Airfix Red Hordes against my Conte Germans.

Here is what the set looks like:

    • Erwin says:

I got the TJ max tank the tracks are base in KV .Very odd looking to me overall. They release a king tiger using exact same tracks/ wheels.
The one at Dollar General I post here before look more realist M26 in about 1/32 to 1/35 plus nice real tracks.
      My thoughs…
      Best…

  6. Lester Lessa says:

I was alittle afread the chin toy figures (civil war) Generals would be a bit small. They may be ok with marx figures or just standing a lone. Cant wait to see all of them.

  7. Greg Liska says:

Yeah, the tank is weird but useful if you don’t care what it’s supposed to be. It’s got a M-26 Pershing turret and Soviet suspension used on the KV series tanks and SPGs. I think with all this banter about correct scale, the very same people would want accuracy.

The Ja-Ru tank is great. It’s hardly 1 mm smaller and about spot on except for that dual MG feature. No big deal. The figures were useable. I kept about 15 of the tanks and about 30 of the figures. Another thing that was available was a big raft, that also came with about 6 Marx copy soldiers. The only drawback was the 2 part raft was cast in green and translucent red. Paint to the rescue!

    • Mark T. says:

It would be nice to have proper scale AND accuracy, but that’s hard to find in 54-60 mm vehicles unless you want to spend $50-100 a pop on fragile display models. The best options for combined accuracy, scale and affordability are Erwin’s Jagdtiger, BMC’s King Tiger and Sherman, (but the Sherman is kind of off) and the Airfix vehicles, but those are getting hard to find.

I have a couple of the CTS tanks, but they are just way too small, especially with the larger new figures. They are very nicely detailed, but look pathetically unimpressive beside the soldiers. I’ve been looking for something to arm my Russians for a long time. I really did not want to use BMC Shermans. The TJ Max tank is far from accurate, but at least it’s cheap, doesn’t look ridiculously tiny and has a remotely similar shape to the KV-1.

  8. Daniel Murphy says:

I’m not sweating the accuracy of the TJ Maxx tank – or to be more specific the Wow Toys Classic Armour Battle Tank. After all, the suspension is just a sticker. It is nice to have a somewhat generic tank that is better scaled to the armymen that are out there. I just wish that TJ Maxx and Marshalls were more consistent in stocking their toys – they are very hit or miss in my part of the world. I was once able to buy a similarly scaled Classic Armour vehicle modeled on a Bradley. Any of them still around in TJ Maxx?

    • ERWIN SELL says:

If the Bradley is the one extracted or copied from GALOP HALO-series(Non micro machines seriers) and had three doors compartments plus rare turret made in grey and dark forest green soft plastic .It was sold in several Dollar stores all around in update NY ,NJ as well .I bought dozen of them, kept 3 and sold most rest in NJ show 2002-2003 .
Still around after in repack configuration and sold at other stores as well.
      Here is a sample .
      http://www.ebay.com/itm/Combat-Force-Battle-Tank-Set-Pack-of-2/322784719012?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

But again i’m not sure if same referring too.
Marshall,ROSS,TJ Max are soft line bulk retailers second hand stores. They do not replenish their carry merchandise and buy wholesale liquidation warehouse market .They only transfer from store to store when their store are closing or doing inventory .Same in all non toy products they carry .That is why is not consistence with their carrying merchandising stock.
      Best .

      • Daniel Murphy says:

Erwin, that looks like it, with maybe a few small differences in detail. It was green and came with around 10 roughly 45 mm Airfix clones, mostly British paras as illustrated in your link. The Classic Armour folks must have picked these up from the same manufacturing source as the sets on Ebay. These Bradleys would have been a fantastic deal at a dollar store – I wish we had your dollar stores out here in the Midwest!

        • ERWIN SELL says:

Andy The Bradley was sold in Dollar store family chain and Yankee dollar around 2001/2002 and they both close their stores (around 50 ) total.
Most left are monopolized Dollar tree ,Family Dollar that had overrun Dollar General and is forcing it to close many around country as well.
Few family dollar store are left ,most carry by Chinese who carry the most cheap ever products( nothing against Chinese people please) just that those are as it.
At NYC in Bronx bad areas there some run by middle east and Indians that carry good stuff still I had not check those in past years and they are the one who had the Panzer and Matilda in 1.35/36 scale x 1.00 each in blister card in 2005/6
The Bradley I bough x 1.00 each in a bag card with exact same copies of British paratroops you mentioned in green color .I remember the card had a letters of Army set in red.
So even up here we have diminished what they carry ,i have to cross fingers or prey to find any at Dollar Genera as Family Dollar .
Family Dollar corp has a local California warehouse suppliers that bring stuff from china and distribute direct to Carolina main distribution center. So with exception of Dollar General that till 2006 send buyers abroad ,Dollar Tree and Familial Dollar use merchandise from third part bough in container to our ports.
In china they produce way more good ,copies and many stuff I had seen and never made to here.
The internet had force company to instead send buyers(to save money ) buy bulk online with what is showed online most from alibababa third party sellers from China. This is what is used by many of dollar and non dollar stores big chain to buy.
Big Lot and supermarket use this system as well .
Big lot ,Ocean Job lot use also stock carry over direct buy contract from Kmart and Target purchase liquidation way as well. Sample you can see the Star war and blue box elite sets now at Big lot after discontinued in Target.
Walmart -target and few others still use buyers or made direct business with few warehouses in china under contract direct.
Amazon had become a main toy seller with eBay forcing main retailers to reduce every year the toys cheap line and only carry the license products in most cases.
Wal Mart is the exception as they do not like to sale liquidation-discontinued to other retail chain and either destroy merchandise or send as donation abroad x tax reduction business .
Yet Walmart stores under DM exclusive permit often engage in liquidation sales to family run business ,a practice not used by most big retailers.
Any ways as I went off topic. I which more cheap armor is made in right scale x us ,most stuff is so small or so odd and crude out there.
Direct dealing with Alibaba export is a very bad experience ,yet you can find things never will be sold here .
          best
