Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two September 2017 we have some more information on Miniplast. Marcus Lecksheid sent some photos and I have one their knights. Next we will be showing some interesting figures. I have a question on some Marx farm animals. So let’s get started.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two September 2017 Miniplast
The last post I showed this figure. At the time we did not who made it. Denitz was able to identified the figure as Miniplast.
Markus Lecksheid has sent some more items on Miniplast. Here is the box for the western figures from Miniplast.
Here is the interior of the box with the western figures. We can see the figure I have is missing his hat.
Checking my box of figures I found that I had one of their knights. I believe I got the figure in York Toy Show in York PA. Markus believes there is very little information available on the company.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two September 2017 Various Figures
Trojan was an interesting company from the UK. They did copies of Marx Roy Rogers figures and the Austrilian soldier in the above photo. The company was around in the early 50’s.
Here we have a Hillco cowboy with a lasso and a Reisler female soldier. The Hillco western figures are similar to many of the early Starlux figures and there are debates who came first. Reisler copied the Timpo lead GI’s then made their own figures in the line. I am not sure if she original pose or not. This is Reisler unpainted version. The original figure was made in 1955.
This is a Pech Hermanos western figure. I think I got him when I bought a box of figures in an auction. I have been a fan of the Spanish figures since I got some at show in the states.
Finally I have a question on the Marx farm animals. Some of the animals I got a lot are tan. Is this a normal color or a landfill? Let me know.
Again i will mention this and i know are German but even that horse and the knights are almost exact as some French made in pose and detail ,I do not know about western other figures in box .
I will look more deep into later this weekend to see the French maker I recon the poses from..
I mean they resemble french made figures alike in some poses ..
So either they copied/cloned or they did under some type license else .
The Marx Cows i have several in tan ,that exact TAN ,so i have rooster, pigs and chickens all original with and still with old plastic Marx smell ,they are from my Dad Farm playset he had and only animals are left in my possession. So no landfill at all mine for sure.
They are not pale yellow or else ,they are light tan flat mate color .
I will look and photo mine when get chance.
best regards
Erwin, you’re right. Kneeling pose comes very close to the kneeling Mexican by Cyrnos from France.
Interesting question who came out first. Don’t know when Miniplast started production neither about release date of Wild West line by Cyrnos.
Yes Markus that is right.
Also i just saw that horse is direct from ASTRID copied, also made by other French makers. The knight i recall seen ,just need to look in my catalogs and books plus site to figure out from where .Definitely there is strong relation .
best..
I have some tan colored Marx animals that do not appear to be dump products. Also have brown, cream, and gray. I suspect anything gray to be from the dump, but these are in pretty nice, clean shape. Not sure if the original dump “miners” did anyone any big favors by putting damaged goods on the market.
I’ve been thinking the same thing. The stuff was put in a dump, and I’m not interested in having someone dig it out — damaged or totally discolored — for me to purchase.
Thanks for clarification.
Well maine were not as come long before the “dump issue” …i will send pics soon and send sample to admin too if need to.
Best..
Speaking of toys from the MARX dump, has anyone ever looked into if there are any IDEAL Toys or LIDO, Mpc, ect. dumps?
BOBBYGMOORE
No dumps for the companies you mention. Britains supposely used unwanted plastic as filler for a parking lot before it was paved over. German collectors of Timpo went to the factory was and found some plastic figure part nearby.
Regarding Miniplast its a good good example how difficult it is to track down information on small toy companies.
Maybe one day after my retirement I go to check the Berlin archives on this case.
At least the Nuremberg toy museum (always worth a visit) put a knight on its inventory.

Even they don’t have an exact production date.
At least no French counterpart to the pose shown.
Plus good (or bad to know) that part of our collectibles became museum pieces already.
