TSSD, PEGASUS AND WESTON TOYS

A look at the TSSD Alamo chapel which was premiere at the Texas Show

After visiting with Ron Barzso, we headed over to Toy Soldiers of San Diego's two rooms. Like Ron, we surprised Nick and Deanna of TSSD. Nicky was on the computer and did not see me so I told him to post that "Stad was here". Nick was surprised and I introduced him and his wife to Laurie, as Laurie was not with me when I met them at Valley Forge two years ago.  After the introduction to Laurie we looked at the items in their two rooms. In one room they had their Alamo chapel, which had been introduced at the Texas show they had sponsored earlier in the year. The Alamo chapel is in foam and nicely done.

The massive display that TSSD set up at OTSN of their Civil War figures with other figures

In the next room, TSSD had  a massive display of Civil War figures including their new Civil War mounted figures. I commented that the new figures had good faces. I said I could not believe it was the same sculptor that I had previously complained about for his faces on other TSSD figures. Nick said that there was more opportunities to do different faces for the Civil War, rather than his other figures, which I felt hard to believe.

Samples of  the new Pegasus 1/32 scale figures

Also in the next room, TSSD had samples of the forth coming 1/32 scale figures from Pegasus. There were three different series of Russian Naval infantry and two different sets of gladiators. These figures are well done and a welcome addition to anyone's collection. I can see people adding the gladiators to their Ben Hur displays as well. Pegasus is hoping to have their first sets out soon which be the Russian Naval figures.

A look at Weston toys new Mexican peasants and cowboys.

The next day we found Steve Weston's room.  Steve had a nice selection of the Replicants and DSG figures in addition to his own figures. Earlier this year Steve had released a series of cowboys inspired by various western movies.  At OTSN, Steve showed the next line in his western figures- Mexican peasants. These figures are nice and give you many options to use these figures in your western stories. Steve told us the next figures will be Mexican bandits. This will be followed by mounted Mexican bandits and then a mixed set of Mexican bandits and peasants.
